It's very similar sounding to the song Flaming Pie and in a style like the album of the same name which can only be a good thing. Fingers are now crossed for a good rocking record!

I didn't like it much at first, but the more I listen to it, the more it's growing on me. I agree with Zimmerman the Gnome in that it's very reminiscent of "Flaming Pie."

I wonder how it would sound live, though, and if Paul would alter the arrangement at all for a live performance. I think it could sound really cool with some added guitar and Abe slamming away on the drums.

I think it is a catchy, toe tapper. It IS reminiscent of "Flaming Pie." Perhaps Paul will perform this live with another arrangement. Yeah, I can just hear Abe on those drums right now!

I like it, but I think the vocals need to be polished. Some parts remind me of Flaming Pie, like Zimmerman said.

Here's the lyrics, my friend trocotroco74 found them

There is a fine line, between recklessness and courage
Itís about time, you unders d which road to take
Itís a fine line, your decision makes a difference
Get it wrong, youíll be making a big mistake

Come on brother, all is forgiven
We all cried when you were driven away
Come on brother, everything is better
Everything is better when you come home and stay

Whateverís more important to you
Youíve got to change what you wanna do
Whateverís more important to be
Thatís the view that youíve got to see

There is a long way, between chaos and creation
If you donít say, which one of these your gonna choose
Itís a long way, and (well?) in every contradiction
Since you say (If you say that?) itís a game that your bound to lose

Come on brother, all is forgiven
We all cried when you were driven away
Come on brother, everything is better
Everything is better when you come home and stay

Come on back
Come on back
Come on back to me

Itís a fine line
Itís a fine line

Whateverís more important to you
Youíve got to choose what you wanna do
Whateverís more important to be
Well thatís the view that youíve got to see

Itís a fine line
Itís a fine line
Itís a fine line

Default Thumbs down

Heard the Fine Line mp3. Average Mccartney melody, although the chorus at the end of the song reminded me of the 70s Who. Its another one of Paul's "message" songs (see Ebony & Ivory, Peace in the Neighborhood, Yound Boy etc.) that I dont particularly like. I prefer the care-free Macca of the 70s who wrote great melodies about love, people, places, and things with ambigous lyrics. Just my preference.

Thanks for the lyrics, and the reviews! Think that I'll go out and get it on the day of its release, just because I am that big of a fan (even though it sounds like it may not be the best of the best as far as Macca stuff goes)... I just hope the new single, and the new album will be better than DR--I wasn't impressed all that much by that one. Thanks for all the info!

Thanks for posting the link to download it and the lyrics!

I like it
Nice lyrics, and the rythm is good, a toe tapper yes.
And it does remind me of Flaming Pie too.

Definitely downloading. I loved Flaming Pie, and I love all of Paul's music, no matter what the theme.

I just got to listen to it, and it is kind of like "Flaming Pie". I also think that it's kind of bad quality on AOL. I'm not sure why except that they also put a guy saying, "AOL First Listen" in the middle of the song (unless it was just my computer) probably to keep people from copying it and trying to sell it. But beyond that, I think it was good, and I hope the album is a little bit better then that one song. I find that sometimes on albums the tracks that are not singles or "the popular song" on the album are better, so I'll wait and see what Macca has up his sleeve.

Talking

thanks for posting the link, it is a toe tapper, but I listened once, and really didn't care for it, the arrangement & vocals do sound similar to Flaming Pie.... I guess I will wait for it to grow on me....

I listened to it and I thought it wasn't good. Then I heard it a second time and I began to hear things I didn't hear the first time around. I noticed the Flaming Pie - ness of it. The third time I heard it, I REALLY liked it, especially the fade out part. It grew on me and I now think it's a terrific song.

I heard it yesterday! I thought it was good. Not great, but good. I cannot wait to get a hold of the album though. I am looking forward to hearing the rest of the songs!

My aunt was sent the song from Paul's official website.
