What kind of food do you like and what kind of price range are you talking?

Yes, very easy to find the ugly statue and lots of seating at the base!

If we miss each other at the statue, I will be wearing a blue shirt on Saturday with "Lynn" on the back and "McCartney Maniac" on the front!

My husband says "lunch food at a place that's affordable" which I would read as any style of lunch food that costs less than $10 per person.

I'm excited, it's been 5 years since I've been to a fest and I'm looking forward to it!

Depending on where you'll be, Corner Bakery is pretty good for lunch, good sandwiches and/or salads and/or soup and you can get a good lunch for less than $10. Otherwise go for the standard chain places...

Can't wait to meet you!!

Oh yeah, there is but one ugly statue, one that rises (how many floors? Like 5?) to great heights. It's a fun metal copper colored statue

To answer your question about lunch in downtown Chicago..where in downtown Chicago? Plenty of places to go to.

you really should check out Millennium Park while in Chicago. Dip your tootsies in the face spouting fountain.

Maybe head over to Navy Pier ..you can catch lunch there I am sure.

I'm not certain exactly where we'll be. The only things I know we're doing is the fest and a boat tour concentrating on architecture. We might make our way out to Wicker Park to shop, but I suppose on the whole we'll be in the more touristy locations.

Ok..the archtecture boat tour will be great. I would still try to make it to Millennium park if I were you.

I used to live in Wicker Park but a lot has changed since I lived there. There will be plenty of spots to eat in WP.

Have a good time.

Since we go on Thursday, I've been bugging my family to go see the Big Bean. I've been wanting to see that for years.

In answer to GG's questions - the big bean is a well, sculpture, would be one word for it. It looks like a shiny giant bean! It's located in downtown Chicago.
Hope that helps.

Does anyone have any suggestions for meetup dates and times? We used to meet at 11am on Saturday, but this year they're showing a film at 11am. Is 10:15 too early to meet up on Saturday morning?

Thanks, Lynn!
Chicago has some funky sculptures, between the Big Bean and the Screw!
