Default Your Summer Concerts

I was just wondering what Concerts people have been seeing this summer starting since the begining of July.

I'm seeing two shows this summer.
Crosby Stills and Nash on August 3 and
Bob Dylan with Willie Nelson & Family on the 8th.

Should be a good week for me.

Just from July on, I saw Melissa Etheridge on her Lucky tour. She's great, and what an energy going around. Everyone was enthusastic, and it clicked between audience and performer. Two hours flew by.Fantastic show, great music.

I found a new favorite kind of music. Ska. Anyroad, I saw these ska bands called Suburban Legends, Lucky Boys Confusion, Catch 22, RX Bandits, and Reel Big Fish. I saw them this week on Tuesday. Though the only bands I knew were Suburban Legends and Reel Big Fish. Also I made friends with the members of Suburban Legends.

Also, If you go to the link on my signature the music playing in the site is by Suburban Legends.

I went to see The Who not long ago (was in June not July but never mind - cause they were amazing). I'm going to the Leeds music festival in August where loads of bands are playing (White Stripes, The Darkness and other bands like that). Have no other concerts planned.

Saw No Doubt and Blink 182 (same show).
Gwen S is one heck of an entertainer and the band is superb.
She was all over the stage and didn't miss a note.
Blink was also real good. Better than when I saw them 2 yrs ago. Did most of the new album and those guys are freakin' funny!

I love her, she is great, Legs!

I just got back from seeing Alanis and the Bare Naked Ladies (Friday night). It was awesome! She wow'ed the crowd...she seemed genuinely touched because the audience knew and sang along with many many songs...not just the most popular ones either. At one point she just held the microphone out....and smiled so bright. She is gorgeous~ I snuck down and saw her up close for one song. (to quote the Rutles... "I Must be in Love..." ).

The Bare Naked Ladies were a delight. I had never seen them before. There were two guys who I guess are like groupies (?)...the 'Guys in the Green Dresses'...and they danced bigtime! They were great, and it was hysterical how the Ladies just asked the guys up onto the stage, telling the guards.."No no...just let them through...it's okay!"

It was a great time! Alanis!!!!!

I saw BB last year also. How cool is he?
Man, he came out and sat on a chair in the middle of the stage and someone came up and handed him his guitar.
And he sang and played those BB leads, and had another guy play rhythem. His band was a cast of characters as well and he and them did schtick. What a great show!

In the begining of July I saw Clapton and Billy. I love to watch Eric put on his guitar face and do some serious jammin'. Billy gave one of his patented organ solos. A great concert. A pleasant surprise was the opening act....Robert Randolph and the Family Band. The first song they did sounded just like Hendrix. During the finale Eric and Robert did a duet togeter. If you are going to see this concert do not get there late and miss Robert Randolph and the Family Band.
In September I will be going to a Phil Collins concert. I am eagerly awaiting to see him again. The last time that I saw him in concert was the mid 80's. He said that this will be his last tour because he has lost a lot of his hearing.

I saw "The Cast" of Beatlemanie, who were superb. And then the next week i saw Eric Clapton and Robert Randolph which was awesome! The opening act really got it started, It's funny becasue I made a comment that he was "the hendrix of pedal steel" and sure enough "Voodoo Chile" comes blaring outta the speakers. I was blown away just to SEE Clapton let alone hear his beautiful guitar work. I also enjoyed seeing Billy Preston who has a hillarious stage presence and is GOD on the keyboards. It was a great time.

Thought I would bring this old topic up to see who people are seeing this summer!!!

I am starting out the summer traveling over 1,000 miles to see Steve Carlson play this Saturday night.

I am also praying/trying for a trip to Oregon to see the Kane duo.

This year I seem to have lamed it on the summer gig front! Next month I'm seeing Plastic Ono Band but that's all I have. I've spent on travel more than gigs this year! But I'll see what else comes up.

I might see Neko Case in July! If you fellow linkers haven't heard her music, you should. Her voice/music is amazing.
