In this photo, even John looks to be thinking: my hair is gorgeous.

Yes indeedy! Although I don't think it's possible there exists a bad photo of John, I agree with you, Snoopy (), about preferring this style of John's hair. That's precisely the word... STYLE.

His later style in the '70s was good too... I like the wavy curls in the New York scenes in particular. Sizzzzzzling!

Thank's for the cool picture, Nowhere Anne I love John's hair-style in "Rain" and "Paperback writer"

Well, I think there are very few bad pictures of John, mostly of them taken at the end of the 60's IMHO. I call it the "junkie-look" (long hair with beard). As you say, it's a matter of style and it happens that I just don't like THIS kind of style I think it's a pity how he hided his pretty face behind so much hair

John looks great in the 70's (apart from some exception in the 1980's), but oh well, nobody is perfect, even John

I think he sprayed it and was going for something like the "Farrah" before it existed. I think it's interesting that he got so bored that he changed his hair so often. This man was just incredibly cutting-edge.

As someone with curly hair, I think it's mostly in the cut... But then he got it especially high by washing it, putting duckbill clips at the roots, and then fingering up the curls when the hair was about 75% dry.

Wow, that is so specific. I love it.

Well, when I wear my retro dresses, I TRY to get my hair to pouf like that in the back and spray the hell out of it, and it goes flat in an hour.

So damn, I'm jealous of John's hair in these photos.

Wildewoman, you have to put some special-foam in your wet hair after washing and then to pouf it up with the hair-drier and comb, this works for sure

Mind you, I also admire John's hair. It seems that he just could do anything with his hair

You ever notice the orange/red tint in his hair and sideburns in this video?

That's just the effect of the spotlight on his light-brown hair

many in fan fics call him a red-head. I think that's going a bit far but during the Pepper era, John's hair looked very red

He had chestnut hair with a LOT of red hair mixed in. Damn close to auburn, but not quite. But if the light hit it right....

He had lots of freckles too.

I think I posted this earlier, but John's hair color was quite fascinating. He had darkish brown hair, regular brown hair with some red, lighter brown hair with lots of red, dirty strawberry blondish hair, auburn, etc... his color changed as often as his style, it seems. (But there was aways a hint of that red...)
