I saw this interview live when it was broadcast and found James to be very nervous and uncommunictive.
If you're booked on a show to talk about your new release, you should either do it and do it well live or arrange for the interview to be recorded in advance.
Having said that, I met him after a gig at King Tuts in Glasgow (where I got my set list signed, incidentally), and found him to be quite awkward and not very friendly despite the fact he was selling CDs and other merchandise which he said (on stage) he was happy to sign.

James looks like a larger, blond, balder version of Paul. He has that Paul McCartney face!
I think it took a lot of courage for James to come out and offer his piece. It could not have been easy for him and for him to disclose what he did and to say Heather is a good mother to his sister says a lot of good about James. I have respect for him for that.

James got slated over here for his bit on TV. I didn't see it myself. When I saw him live, it was a long time ago before he was on the road as "James McCartney" so I didn't really think anything of the fact that he didn't address the audience beyond saying song titles.
I think he has a lovely voice, he plays well and clearly writes nicely too. Personally I feel like it is almost nicer to be reserved in the way that he is rather than overly arrogant....however, unfortunately there has to be a strong confidence when presenting yourself and your work to the world of music. And the pressure is always going to be higher when you have significantly musical DNA.
I see he's playing again in London in a few nights. I'm not going but I hope it goes well for him.
