Abbey Road Crossing

I learnt something new today.

I'd always thought the Abbey Road crossing had been moved and that the one that is there now was in a different place.

But apparently not. Which I think is great news (If you didn't know already).

Nope, it's not been moved - it's always been in the same place.

I think the false story came about because there is another crossing further down on Abbey Rd.

When you visit the crossing, it is absolutely obvious it is in the same place. It looks JUST like the famous cover.

It was an April Fools joke about 5 years ago. I have lived about 500 yards from the crossing for the past 33 years. It has never moved. It has been widened a little as road regs change. The kerbs on each side have been lowered to cope with wheelchairs.
