Default Problems with PS3 hardware

Is anyone else experiencing the complete and total breakdown of their PS3 hardware???

Since we bought the Limited Edition bundle on the release date, both our guitars (the Hofner and the Gretsch) and the drum kit have broken and we've had to send away for replacements. Unfortunately, the 60-day warranty with EA has expired and I wasn't offered an extended product replacement warranty where I purchased the stuff back in September, so if anything else breaks down, we're up the proverbial creek until we shell out another $100 or so for each new piece of equipment. Add to this the fact that the Hofner bass broke about 6 weeks ago and we just received the replacement now, and I'm sure you can see my frustration.

I'm kinda disappointed in whoever makes the hardware for this game. The game itself is a joy to play, but since we bought it, we haven't been able to play as a band because, at any given time, one or more of our instruments have been out of commission since mid-September. I think the problem is that the PS3 controllers are all wireless, so there are more parts to break down.

Does anyone else have similar stories? Or did I just buy a whole bunch of lemons???

And in the end the love you take
Is equal to the love you make

I never had any issues with the rockband game or any of the instruments ( i own the bass drums and both guitars).
However when I first bought my PS3 back in about may, I had it for about a week or 2 when all of a sudden it just wouldn't read any disc I put in, nor was it going to the PS start up screen. Luckily I went back to Best Buy and they replaced my system no hassle. I did buy a warranty for I think 70 bucks, just in case but have had no problems since.

But I haven't had nor heard/read that many problems with Rock Band and the instruments, then again, I may not be looking in the right places. I guess every now and then one of us has to be the unlucky customer that has to experience these technical frustrations.
You know it ain't easy...

But it's alright, Ma, it's life, and life only.
