Yeah. I saw the commercial for this. These guys (Jay & Silent Bob) are 10 years older doing their same act! Probably standing in front of the same convenience store, too! As much as I like those guys, I find that kind of pathetic. Sorry, Jay & SB, I think I'm gonna wait to rent it on dvd.

this takes place in Middletown, pretty close to me.
My son and I saw Kevin Smith and the guy who plays Jay in Kevin Smith's comic book store in Red Bank a few years ago.
Jay was telling the guy behind the counter that he makes models of ships and the guy behind the counter was ranking on him for that and saying he should be making models of Spiderman.
Pretty funny.

The film is more about Dante & Randal (the Clerks in question) but yeah it's 12 years after the original movie and they are still working dead-end jobs (although they're new dead-end jobs!) and it is kind of pathetic... it's kinda the point of the movie. To quote Kevin Smith its about what happens when that twenty-something malaise stretches into your thirties. There is a lot of heart in this movie though - if you love the original movie there is no way you are leaving the theatre with anything other than a big smile - it's just increcibly heart-warming if you love these two characters as much as Kevin Smith realised he did! There is a reason this movie got an eight-minute standing ovation at Cannes and if you watch the movie, get past the gross-out humor (such as the donkey show!) then the last ten minutes or so will really put a spring in your step! :D

I'm sure you're right. I haven't seen "Clerks" in ages, but I remember aching from laughing so much afterwards. If I *did* go see it at the theater, it'd have to be by myself, tho. Since (a) I'm the only one here who saw the first one and (b) I *know* for a fact that BG wouldn't like it. And it's probably a bit too raunchy for HP. I'd probably get dirty looks from the other adults if I brought her with me.

I highly urge everyone to check this out... Kevin (the director) invited me to a private screening a few months ago and I saw it at his film festival recently again, and it's a wonderful, funny, amazingly touching film as well. It's great. My review from the February screening is on my myspace page ( www.myspace.com/kelvinpeakin)

I hated this movie. I don't think Kevin Smith has any talent. Also, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back was possibly the worst movie in the history of man.
