Have you visited Beatle related attractions?
If you did, then I hope you can help me with something.
Hi there,
My name is Yoshi Ploeger, 23 years of age, currently living in Bournemouth (UK) but originally I am from the Netherlands. I am certainly a Beatles fan, owning more than a handful of Beatles records (CD and Vinyl) and my all time favorite song must be ‘Come Together’.
However I did not sign up to this message board just out of fandom. Currently I am working on my postgraduate dissertation. This research is about the experiences of people who have visited a musical heritage attraction (for example: Graceland or in case of the Beatles John Lennon’s childhood home or the Cavern Club). Therefore I would like to ask the members of this forum if there is anybody here who want to help me with my research.
What help? You might ask. Well. I am looking for about 6 people who have visited a musical heritage site, most ideally in the past two years. These people I would like to interview (one on one) about this experience. This will not be your average interview with a lot of questions. I will allow you to tell a story (narrative) about the experience(s) you had while visiting a musical heritage site and will only interrupt if something needs clarifying or if you go off-topic a bit too much. Once all interviews are conducted I will examine all data to see if there are similarities (themes) in your experiences, so I can perhaps can construct one narrative of an average experience of a tourist visiting a musical heritage site.
Recognizing that such experience can be very personal and sometimes even emotional you (the participant) will not be called by name in the actual report. Any other relevant data will be ‘falsified’ as well. The actual recordings of the interviews and the transcriptions will be saved in two secure places, 1. A password protected file on my computer (which is also password protected) and 2. A back-up will be saved in one of the most secure web-mail services on the internet ( www.hushmail.com).
If you are willing to help me or have further questions then you can reply in this topic, send me a PM on this website or send an e-mail.
Kind regards,
Yoshi Ploeger
P.S. I hope this the appropriate place in the forum to post this message, if not I apologize.

I've been to the Dakota, where John lived and Yoko still lives, and obviously the location where he was sadly taken from us. I've also been to the Strawberry Fields memorial in Central Park, just across the road from the Dakota. I have photos of me standing behind the "Imagine" mosaic; it's kind of eerie seeing it with the giant, old Dakota building looming over it from across the street.
If it also counts, I've been to the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square which has a lot of Beatles memorabilia, including the original doors from the Abbey Road Studios.
Minor sites I've been to includes the Amoeba Music Store in Hollywood where Paul performed in 2007, Citi Field in New York where he performed in 2009, the Hollywood Bowl and the Capitol Records tower in Hollywood.

I've been to New York, Florida and L.A.!
So yeah, I've paid several visits to the Dakota and Strawberry Fields and also had cappacino and cannoli at the Cafe La Fortuna around the corner from the Dakota, where John liked to hang out and read the papers. I've seen the old Ed Sullivan Studio where David Letterman now films his show...
I've been to the Hollywood Bowl; the Beatles played there twice. I've been to Disney World; I think John went there with Julian a couple of times. I don't count either of them as particularly Beatly, but Beatles have either played there or been there at one time or another.
I've been to the Capital Records building in Hollywood, too, to celebrate John's birthday!

Oh yeah, throw in the Ed Sullivan Theater and Disney World for me too! Disney World is a big one, in my opinion - apparently John signed the legal documents that ended The Beatles in one of the resorts there?

Disney World
Yes, Ivan, John was the last to sign the Beatles dissolution agreement, and he did it at Disney World. He was waiting "until the stars were right." Evidently the stars he was waiting for were Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy.

I've been to John Lennon and Paul McCartney childhood homes, the famous red gate to Strawberry Fields and walked on Penny Lane - all in Liverpool.
I´ve also been outside the Abbey Road Studio in London.

I've been to the Dakota (and the nearby Strawberry Fields) a couple times, and the Ed Sullivan Theater. And yeah, if you wanna stretch it, I've been to Disney World multiple times too. I believe John stayed at the Polynesian when he & Julian went
