Why are you a fan of John mainly

What is the main thing that you like and why you are a fan. Let's try to be honest.
So this is about why you're a fan now, it can be that you fell for John's look, but then started to listen to his music and find that is why you're a fan nowadays, so that's the option you choose.Ofcourse it can be a combination of things, but what is the main thing for you.

I can honestly say, that it was the music and words first. I loved imagine and bought John Lennon Collection. I started liking more and more songs on that album, till I loved them all. Then his personality and political views made me a really dedicated fan.

I said music and words first...the other stuff came later. Before I really knew what he looked like, I knew what he SOUNDED like, and I loved it! The fact that the intelligence (also a really big high point for me -- brains are sexy!) charm and wit happened to be housed in a very attractive package didn't hurt, but that was not the first thing that made me a fan.

I should point out that it was hard to choose between "music and words" and "who he is" because those are so closely intertwined in my mind...

I'm not a John-fan, but what I like about John now most are his lyrics.

I chose "who he is." I was originally drawn to John because he was a writer and had such a fascinating personality. Getting to know him on the inside made me appreciate his outside, so to speak.

This is dificult I admit. Just like with George I feel that had John not been the person who he is, he couldn't have writen these personal lyrics and politicial songs. I can relate to John's lyrics the most, and the style. And the music got me started, that and his lyrics is what makes me buy the albums.So while as with George it's a combination, it comes down to the music and words.

I chose "because of his music". The truth is that I've never been a John's fan because of "Who he is", it was his music what captivated me first, and the only thing that continues doing that.

It has to be his words and music. thats what grabbed me and have held me there ever since. I have learned a lot more about him and it is quite hard to separate the man from the music now, but originally it was the music that seemed to bring me home. might sound crazy but its true.

I chose "who he is", because he wrote about his experiences and his lyrics really express who is he. I mean, if he hadn't been who he was, I don't think he would have written such beautiful music.

The music and words came first for me. I was keenly aware of John's distinct sound and style before I appreciated his looks. His brilliance; humor; decisiveness and his devotion to Yoko were all things that made me love and respect him even more.

John was FUNNY! I also LOVE the fact that the Chief Beatle didn't suffer a fool gladly and held no pretenses about anything. If anything, John was honest to a fault and I respect that. I also think John's songs and messages about peace have made this world a better place.

I agree with Susan - the brain is what attracts me more than anything else and John had plenty of gray matter working in his favor. I also like the way John said that even when he was a little boy, he knew he was a genius and special. He was not a tin soldier who marched in line taking orders; he was true to himself; spoke his mind; had a wonderfully wild spontenaity and he was the man who could make the world listen before he was 25.

At first it was his music and words, I loved it! His songs were absolutely fabulous, he had a knack for writing great poetry and coming up with catchy tunes.

Later on I fell in love with his personality, because in so many of his interviews he was so funny! I've read so many anecdotes about him that really made me laugh. He was such a witty guy. Also I admire him for his dedication for world peace in the later years, it was something he strived so hard for, I wish he could have seen it.

And, of course, I love his looks too, although if he hadn't had the same charming face I think I would have liked him anyways. [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img]

It was a tough choice! But in the end I picked who he was. cuz even though I adore how he looks and I love his music madly, it's who he was that I love the most [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

as with any of them it is first about the music. he had much to say in what he did and his words impacted a generation and will for many years to come.you rock john.

It was very hard for me to chose between "his words and music" and "who he is". They both seem to coincide with each other, one affects the other. But there are some of John's songs that are particularly special to me and it was his words and music that first drew me to admire and respect him.

I think for me, it was John the person, it shone on stage and in his pictures and interviews, there was that wit, that attracted me to him,his voice didn't strike me right away, it was the words to his songs that struck me first.
I don't know how you could not be a fan of John, if your a fan of the Beatles, thanks John for sticking with it from the beginning and not getting discouraged.

I like John mostly for his music. John was also a very interesting person and he had a great sense of humour.

I was definately drawn to the music first. In fact i was only 5 at the time so i didnt really know The Beatles as people until i got a little bit older. So it was definatley his music at first. Over a period of time I'd say his personalty more or less coincides with his music.

I like who he is above anything else. I respect him a great deal, not only for his talent, but his honesty and love as well.

Looks only come second.
