Things I was slow on picking up on...

I'm interested in knowing what you have found that was probably obvious to everyone but you. In my instance...

1. John's whistling fade out on Two of Us is the melody to the Hello Goodbye coda.

2. These two album covers are practically identical.

In the video for "Hello, Goodbye", at the end George does a mild strip tease with his jacket. It happens so fast, a viewer can easily miss it. It's sexy and cute .

The Saturday Night Live theme music was pretty much Whatever gets You Through the Night.

These are good! Gosh, I never noticed the end of "Two Of Us" being "Hello Goodbye!" :O

I never picked up on that before! I've listened to that song I don't know HOW many times, and I never figured that out.

I never realized the sudden cut (or drop) of strawberry fields forever til It was pointed out to me, as well as the faint countdown somewhere during Strawberry Fields Forever (done by Paul, I assume)

A lot of stuff we may have missed before can be heard on the 2009 re-masters as clear anything.

I had NO idea that such a huge number of Beatle fans both then and now, were so enamored with George's looks. NO idea, zero, zip, nada. Sure, he got Pattie (tops of all the Beatle girls by an enormous margin imo) but Paul was always the cute one, I figured John had some female fans etc. This George thing is new to me.

Just realized through reading Ken Sharp's "Starting Over" that when John sings "Don't want to lose you now," on the fade-out of "I'm Losing You," on Double Fantasy, he's doing a note-for-note musical as well as lyrical quote from George's "Something."

While I was up at school (way back in the mid-late 80's), and my friedns and I were out driving around campus, etc.... whenever "Whatever Gets You..." came on the stereo, I'd shout out, "It's Saturday Night Liiiiiive" in my best Don Pardo impersonation.

I also like your opening post. I never really thought about the "Two Of Us-Hello, Goodbye" connection. Cool... and yeah - distort the "For Sale" photo, and they would have been a year ahead of themselves!

My Aunt - who was a fan back in the day - always liked George the best. She told me once, "Oh, all the girls were crazy about Paul... but George was MY favorite!".

Just found out about the 800% slower Beatles tracks. Very cool. Mystic, soothing, almost Indian/Maharishi era stuff.

Some women of all ages find Ringo cute. I never had a crush of them. To me they are average, nice looking guys. I also heard rumors that there was a topless dancer in the video"Hello Goodbye". I know Britain is more liberal, even back then but wouldn't they have had problems with the censors before it was aired. I have to watch the video again. The women's attire was a little racy, I'm sure that made the guys day!

There was one or two seasons in the 70's or early 80's when the theme music was spot on WGYTTN. We're probably about the same age from what I can gather, 62. That being the wrong side of 40? But you were probably watching the golden age of SNL along w the rest of us Gen Xers.

And that "I don't want to lose you now" is really a clever piece of homage. I wonder if Lennon even knew he'd done it. With that or Hello Goodbye. Or it just crept out of his subconscious.

I just watched Magical Mystery Tour today for the first time in a decade and recognized the song that the schlock band was playing in the burlesque club scene as "Death Cab For Cutie".

Do you suppose that would be the first instance of female vox on a Beatles song? I recall Paul discussing the resistance he encountered when suggesting Linda sing a high harmony on Let it Be.
