I've seen 1964 and American English, and both are great!

I've been to both of their websites and heard clips of them performing and they both sound fabulous.

Paulismine and I are in the River City where the Eggmen rule the music scene.

Tonight I'll be listening to the Eggmen and DMAO!

Huum, seen British Export (did mainly early stuff, I like later), Liverpool (who have THE best George on the face of this earth! They're at beatlefest this year, yaaay!), and American English a few times. I know everyone who's seen AE loves em to death, but I dunno, I think they worry too much about putting on a good performance (dressing up like em) than the actual music. I just wish their sets were longer I guess.

Ooo, how could I have forgotten! Beatle brothers around chicago. I remember a week or two after George died they played at this bar in the suburbs (I'm still not sure how I got in!) and they took like, one ten minute break and played the whole night until they kicked everyone out at two. I love the songs they play!

...and sometimes that's what scares me. I like the band a lot and have known them for years, but many of their newer fans are so obsessive and insane that it's taken a little of the enjoyment away from their shows for me.

I know! I saw them twice at Isaac Hayes (Which is a GREAT place!) and there were girls about my age (like, 16, maybe younger) practically throwing themselves at the guys. It's like, they aren't the real thing. (altho marty is quite cute now isn't he?!)

Hee hee...funny you should mention those shows (I was there too - small world!)...I was chatting with one of the guys who I've known for 15+ years and he teasingly insulted me, so I smacked him on the arm. One of those teens you mentioned came running over and said "Don't HIT him! You might HURT him!" Yeah, little me is gonna hurt big strong man by slapping his arm. Get a grip.

I agree though - that was a GREAT place. Too bad they probably won't play there again.

When I finally get to see my first tribute band, besides Liverpool at Beatlefest, I'll probably act a little like a stupid fan if they're all dressed up in the suits and such. It would wear off by the end of the 1st set though.

I was sitting by the stage, just talking with a friend, and then I noticed that this huge group of girls came swooping in as they were heading off stage. And, we were gonna go back to our table, but, we were trapped by the girls, so we just kind of sat on the stage and talked. But, there were these girls who would have given a years worth of their allowance (allowance...hehehe) to get a hotel room or something. So, I just kind of blurted....."Georgie can I wear you hat?!?" Like one of them, I even flipped my hair and batted my eyelashes.

And they were all laughing, so he gave me the pepper hat (which weighed alot) and I swear on all things holy, this girl jumps on stage and yanks it off my head, wench even pulled my hair! So, I start laughing hysterically at them, who were clawing each others eyes out for the hat, and we started talking. They're nice guys, I'm gonna be sad when they leave chicago.

I wanted to go see them this past weekend, but all my Beatle buddies were busy. Ah well, another time. I haven't seen them in years. A friend of mine sits in with them once in a while when one of their regular guys can't make it.

I saw another band in town a couple weeks ago and they were HORRIBLE. I don't believe in insulting other bands, so I won't mention their name, but whoa, were they bad....

This isn't exactly about tribute bands, but have you heard about the Beatles night at the Old Town School of Folk music next weekend? I think I'm going to go to that - I've been to their prior fundraisers and they were a lot of fun for a great cause.
