Yeah, I saw that clip (pretty cool). Anyhow, with Tim Burton behind it, it should be a good movie. But after seeing the original so often...By the way, Linda Harrison (George's sister ?) who played "Nova" in the original also has a small role in the new one.

Considering how Heston is now president of the N.R.A. + a right-wing quasi-fanatic he could have played "Dr. Zaius". I can hear Chuck now..."Guns, we need more guns !".

I wonder which character he plays? It'll probably be one of those high ruler type apes I've seen in the ads.

Getting back to the topic here, "IT'S OFFICIAL!!!" Got this news from Billboard.com.

Ringo Lines Up All Starr Band Itinerary

Ringo Starr's 2001 All Starr Band tour will kick off July 26 in Rama, Ontario, and play nearly 30 dates before closing Sept. 2 in San Diego. As previously reported, the seventh edition of Starr's band features Sheila E., Mott the Hoople's Ian Hunter, Greg Lake from Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Supertramp's Roger Hodgson, and Howard Jones. The annual rock ritual has featured performances of such Starr and Beatles standards as "Photograph" and "Yellow Submarine."

"I've no fear of letting other people shine," Starr told Billboard editor in chief Timothy White in an exclusive interview in May. "I love to play with people who shine -- that's what it's always been about for me. We're all playing together, and the fact you're singing the song is a bonus."

To coincide with the start of the tour, Koch Records will on July 24 release "The Anthology ... So Far: Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band," a three-CD live collection. The set will contain the former Beatle's own classics from his last six annual summer treks, plus the hits of guest band members Dr. John, Joe Walsh, Peter Frampton, Dave Edmunds, Levon Helm, Clarence Clemons, Todd Rundgren, Eric Carmen, Jack Bruce, John Entwistle, and many more.

That's odd cause this show has been advertised for a while now. It's a thurs night so maybe they threw it in between NY and Atlantic City shows. Anyway, I'll be there in row J on the floor, my friends.

Jtal, I hope for your sake that that show was cancelled and you haven't found out yet. Hopefully, it's just an oversight and they just forgot to add it in.

ABCKO, I wonder how Ringo is coping with the news about George, in case it is true and in case Ringo was not already aware of the status. He is due to play in your home town, any updates coming from that side or from anywhere alse he is playing?

------------------
then in Montreal, they were burning British flags and we were supposed to stay the night there and somebody...reported a death threat in the papers, directed at Ringo, so we did the concert and got on the plane and flew off. George in I Me Mine

It was not British flags that were being burned but Canadian flags ! Back then they still had the Union Jack on the Canadian flag. People were protesting the fact that Montréal universities were not giving out any services in french...

About the news about George, there was an article about him in a local newspaper (DGeorge even made the front page !). Nothing new though, only that George Martin had been quoted as saying... + a recap of George's health problems in the last few years... + a brief overview of his solo career...

Nothing about how it might or might not afect Ringo's show...
