W .... is for Wilson, Harold, British Prime Minister, who gave the Beatles the MBE in October 1965, which at that time was really something and caused some disturbance, e.g. with other MBE 'heroes'.


(Q.. is for Quarry Men, John's first skiffle group from 1956, during which period he met Paul and later George.)
