Default This or That Boy in Miami?

Is it just me, or when The Beatles performed This Boy in Miami, on The Ed Sullivan Show (Anthology, episode 3), John, intentionally or not, sang This boy, instead of That boy just in the beginning of the song?

Itīs hard to catch, because of the voices of Paul and George, but notice that John smiles at Paul, and I think itīs because of that mistake.

Hmmm... I've never noticed that before, but you can bet I'm going to go check it out now.

Impressive observation skills.

Oh yeah, I've noticed that! I think it's very funny..there's definetly something going on with Paul and John during that song. And if I'm not mistaken, doesn't Paul let out a high-pitched "hee hee" towards the end of the song?

Well I always thought the 'smile' at the beginning was because John had to turn on the microphone at the last second. However I would really like to know if anyone knows what is said by the audience member at the rehearsals for this show. As Paul is talking to the audience and is trying to get one person to be quiet and John says "Shaddup while he's talkin" and then Paul is obviously embarassed and even 'bites' his knuckles. That might explain any 'tee hee' ing.

I have noticed this too; I always thought it was an honest mistake, but who knows...with some songs, it's kinda hard to get all the words right, you know?

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">I always thought he said "Shutup Paulie's talkin'!" I love that...it's like going back to the Hamburg days. I wonder if Brian got mad about that .

Maybe that is what John says, I'll have to listen again. But Paul sure was embarassed. I'd love to know what that exchange was all about.
