I agree that if you know more about the background of a song you can like it more. Tho it may not always be the case tho, you can still simply dislike a song because you're not a fan of the music, no matter what the background is.

*shudder* Avril Lavigne

Actually I'm just slightly offended by the viewpoint she puts out to young girls. She preachs that you shouldn't misunderstand or look down upon the sk8ter boi or gurl, but then in interviews and some videos I've seen she has this death to preppies, preppies are one sided losers sort of view. The irony is fun but I can do without the hypocrisy and it's effect on kids who don't know any better.

I dislike 1985's stinker "Take On Me" by A-Ha. The title doesn't make sense.

I also hate "Does Your Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavor on the Bedpost Overnight?" That is one of the DUMBEST things EVER recorded!

I can't stand Reba McIntyre.

That would be a vast improvement. I truly abhor that song and I do find it EXTREMELY offensive. Since when is someone who was not born within a marriage "different from the rest?" That is bad enough, but the lyrics deteriorate from that point on. To say that song is highly upsetting and offensive is a vast understatement.

I hate the 1957 "Banana Boat" song.

I can't stand wailing, whiny country music.

No Reba McIntyre for me, please.

I hate 1984's stinkeroo "Uptown Girl." Why would anyone want to sound like Frankie Valli, who sounds like an injured cat screeching in pain? I'd rather hear the air raid siren. Billy Joel did not pick a winner there!

Ray Charles' singing Elton's "Sorry (seems to be the hardest word." Sorry, but this just AIN'T your song! I don't like the way he screeched "sorry" like a parrot at the end. I called this lousy version the Sorry Parrot. I can't stand it.

In 1991, Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits fame did a very sick parody of his own 1965 classic of "Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter." Using that tune and arrangements, he sang some very gruesome lyrics about the Jeffrey Dahmer casualties on Howard "Jackass" Stern's radio show. I was with others who were listening to the show and having a giggle over this very gruesome song parody.

It was sick, sorry. I kept thinking that the families of those men who were killed by Dahmer must be hurt to hear their pain and losses being lampooned in this sick, twisted song. That was just my opinion.

I don't know who does the toilet filler "Inhibitions," which Pantene currently uses for their shampoo commercials. I hate the song; it pisses me off and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

I think this is Queen Latifah and I hate the song. I think it's called "I Know You've Got a Chick on the side" and the lyrics are as stupid as all get out. When she wails out with the Gospel Girls "don't hide it, don't hide it from me" and the end - IKKK! Let's just say this song doesn't work for me!

I Can't Stand the Rain by Ann Peebles. Absolutely can't stand it. "I can hear the rain <paus> on my window <paus>. I love rain on the window but this song...

Eagle's Disco Strangler. I HATE that song! I sounds like a nervous breakdown. It makes me want to strangle Glenn and end the torture!

I hate that rainy song too, 'Gal. When it came out, I derisively called it "that raincoat song" and to this day think it sounds like toilet filler.

"Disco Stranger" is another stinkeroni.

I don't like Harry Connick, Jr.'s lounge lizard persona of singing Martini Generation songs. I also don't like "Every Woman is a Queen" and think that line about the SUV ruins the song. I mean, if the lounge lizardess is trying to ape the Martini Generation and pre-Martini generation style, the reference to the gasoholic SUVs shatter that illusion. Sort of like having a Honda Civic in a 1940s period piece or something like that.

Any Salt N Pepa, including their original version of the assy stinker "Chick on the Side."

"Bushel & a Peck" from Porgie & Bess stinks a big one and is ideal toilet filler.

"Brother Won't You Dance With Me" and "Be Kind to Your Parents" as well as "I Am a Funny Little Dutch Girl" belong in the toilet as well. They are auditory swill and waste.

I'm probably gonna get stoned, but I've never been too fond of "Let em In" it seems like Paul wasted a good melody on a bad set of lyrics, and this isn't the first time he's done it (Hello, Goodbye, lookin' right at you). It's just dissapointing that the guy who wrote "Let it Be", "Hey Jude", "Blackbird", "Mother Nature's Son", "The Long and Winding Road" etc wrote this.

It's not Paul at his best. Put down those rocks and I will admit that I think "I'm Down" stinks a big one and I never liked "Birthday" either. I have said many times that I think "I'm Down" is a stinky, yuckky, turkey egg and sweaty, fetid foot of a song and it is the equivalent of an F paper coming from an A+ student. Paul could do so much better than that.

I also think "Freedom" is WAY below Paul's talent and ability level. His heart was in the right place, but I still think "Freedom" is a bit on the stinky side.
