Ringo new Album in January 2012

Unconfirmed reports say Ringo Starr's new album, with the very quiet title of "Ringo 2012," will be released in the U.S. on Jan. 24 on Hip-O Select Records.

The record has been in the works for some time and was first mentioned earlier this year. But this is the first mention of a possible release date.

The album will be released on CD, vinyl and in digital form.

Which means that us in the UK get it 43 days to the day, since The Beatles played on the Apple roof.

Album sleeve and correct track list available on Ringo's site. Can't say the cover art or album name excite me. Just hope musically it's as good as his last effort, although, with only five new songs, it make me wonder a bit, I must say.

I appreciate all the details, guys! I just heard about it the other day...

So it's the official tracklist afterall. When I first read it I thought someone made it up. I will have a listen when it shows up somewhere first.

Have to agree with Zimmerman re the album cover. Pretty uninspiring. Looks like it was knocked up in 5 minutes on Paint Shop pro...

* 1/3 of the album, and, to boot:

- "Think it over": already released

- "Step lightly": one of Ringo's own songs

- "Wings": one of Ringo's own songs

... and we also had a remake of "Everyone wins' on his last album...

I'm really curious what Ringo's gonna do with Step Lightly. I love that song and think it's a very interesting choice as a remake. I wonder if it is one of Ringo's favorites too.

Looking forward to Rock Island Line, too. I love George's version. :) They should dub Georgie in.

I've pre-ordered my copy from Amazon (UK) already.

Really don't like the cover. It could almost be from the same sessions as the Y Not cover, just with Ringo giving the peace sign (which he and Yoko are kind of running into the ground, IMO). Pretty uninspired stuff.
