McCartney songs ?

This Sunday I bougth this bootleg on a record fair.

Paul McCartney - Return to pepperland
with the following songs.

1 Lindiana - Very lovely song, can't understand why Paul hasn't released it.Recorded in 1984 together with an early version of "We get maried"

2 I love this house - also on one of the flaming pie singles

3 We got maried - early demo

4 Beatiful night - 1986 version

5 Loveliest thing - also on the "FITD" Japenese double cd

6 Squid - Single

7 Big day- Unreleased Paul chanting Big day over a big piece of music

10 Christian pop- Unreleased instrumental song

A good collection of the songs released on the different "Flaming Pie"singles and some unreleased tracks. Has anyone ever heard of the songs "Big day" and "Christian rock" before, I'm almost sure that "Big day" is paul but I don't know if "Christian rock" is.Can't find anything about this song. I've heard about "Lindiana" and that it was recorded together with "We got married" in 1984, but I know nothing about, "Big day" and "Christian rock" anyone are they real McCartney tracks?

Sounds like a really good boot you got there, Legs. In March 1987, Paul worked on these songs.

"Big Day" was a repetitive drum machine, electric guitar and keyboard demo that started out promisingly but never really went anywhere. Although what sounds like a vocal track can be heard bleeding through at occasional points during the song, at these times the lyrics consist of nothing more than the chorus, "My Big Day".

Not sure about "Christian Rock", but there was a song called "Christian Bop". Phil Ramone worked as producer on this track, which was recorded at International Christian Community Studios in Eastbourne, Sussex. Paul did some sessions there in '86 and named this as a "tribute". Parts of this track were later incorporated into "Dance" from "Movement III - Crypt" (Tr. 15) on Liverpool Oratorio.

Both of these songs were again worked on during the Flowers In The Dirt sessions in 1989.

The sound quality is great, I had some songs on other bootlegs but never before was the sound so clear. It remains an bootleg, it's posible that others are releasing the same material on different bootlegs with different title's.

bearkat77 thanks for the information, now I can be sure that these are McCartney songs.
On the list I posted and on the bootleg it says "Christian pop" by mistake I later said "Christian rock" it could be and it sounds like the song you say is called "Christian bop".
Bootlegs never give much information about the songs, but it mentioned Phil Ramone as producers of these songs

Return to Pepperland is a great song..wonder why he didn't issue it.

"Love comes tumbling down", I've always liked that one...

"Same love", one of Pauls better ballads. It has a really nice piano intro played by Nicky Hopkins (who had played keyboards on "Revolution").

Another good one from the "Flaming pie" sessions is "Looking for you" (featuring Ringo on drums & congas). It's very much like "I really love you", a jam that became a song, but I prefer "Looking...".

I have three of the CD singles from "FP", apart from the single and the one or two bonus songs they each have a 10 to 15 minute segment where Paul (and sometimes Ringo as well) talks about various subjects accompanied by little snipets of songs (if you can call them that).

One segment that I really liked was one where Paul talks about the mellotron. He explains & plays the intro to "Strawberry fields" and then improvises a little ditty on the mellotron, very reminiscent of the 1966 (or 1967 ?) Beatles X-Mas record. He refers to the mellotron a being "very sleazy, very cabaret". Mellotrons were originally meant for one man acts who toured clubs and so on, it was cheaper than carrying a full band arround...
