Has Paul ever mentioned regret in the way they treated him?

If he hasn't by now he never will. I'm guessing no.

I'm not sure about George, but I recall reading John mentioning years ago, "they were bastards in regards to how they treated him". Therefore I guess he felt regret in later years, but who knows if he actually ever spoke to Pete. I do recall during a tour with the Beatles original manager in 2001 in Chicago, Pete did speak about the sadness of losing his former friend George to cancer. He always came across as a class act despite his long ago bitterness. Who can blame the guy. That was knife in the back by so called friends. But who wants to stay angry for over 50 years? Life is short enough.

John did say they were bastards when they had Brian fire Pete instead of doing it themselves, but he also said Pete was a lousy drummer who never improved and they only took him to Hamburg because they needed a drummer.
I agree Pete has always handled the situation with a lot of dignity.

I imagine the notoriety Best experienced throughout his life, because of his role in Beatle history, earned him a living, often if not always throughout his life. The inflated phony world of show business doesn't necessarily operate on merit. History will always show Ringo was the right drummer for the Beatles, but there is nothing to show that Pete couldn't of been. In the end the Beatles liked the money and not so much the fame, it may have been harder with Pete whom was never as close with the other band members. Musically maybe ok, but other issues may have arisen. In the end, maybe just maybe, Pete's Beatle affiliation has been more of a positive in his life than anything else......

......
Good looking guy, ex Beatle, bet his sex life was as good as he wanted it to be. Agents, appearances etc,
I'm thinking being Pete best was (is) not too bad.......a great show biz story, ripe for somebody to profit from......

I met Pete a few years ago when they had a re-opening party for the Casbah club in Liverpool. It was just a few words and I had a CD cover signed by him and a handshake, but he came across as a very nice, decent, laid back person. Nice guy!

From the information that I’ve been able to gather, the Beatles made this live recording of ISHST at the Cavern Club “at the end of 1962.” And the Internet also says that Ringo joined the Beatles in August 1962. If all of that is correct, I don’t see how Pete Best could be on drums on this recording.
