Material World ON DVD?!
I've just pre-ordered the Living in the material world Book, and also Mukunda Goswami's brand new memoir Miracle on 2nd Avenue which looks a real treat!
Just wondering when the Living in the material world doco special deluxe edition is gonna be available to order on Amazon?! It is on Amazon UK but is hugely expensive and so far can only see the deluxe on Blu Ray?! Anyone know when the normal (ie non blu ray) deluxe and regular DVD verison will be available and maybe outside of the UK? Obviously the US is getting it later..Feel this is being handled a bit wrong with some markets getting it on TV, some at the cinema at a one off event, others on DVD and only in Blu Ray.. and others no confirmed dates..Why dont they just put it theatres similtaneously and then On DVD in month or 2 one the same day worldwide?!!!
Would make much more sense and create much more intrest with a little cohesion..Again i feel the distributors are doing Hari a disservice..
Anyone have any answers/release dates around the different regions/ best purchase options?!

Tom Decillo's Doors documentary, narrated by Johnny Depp, was handled in a similar way. It debuted at Sundance, went to a few theatres around the world, then was shown in the US on PBS, then came out on dvd.

I pre-ordered the book and when I checked my account on Amazon, it was shipped out today with an estimated arrival date of tomorrow! Talk about a bonus!

Hi CWW....
The word in music circles these days says that a US Dvd/Blu-Ray release will happen sometime in Spring 2012.

It is quite wierd that it's still not listed on Amazon (US) but I've had it on pre-order from Amazon (UK) for ages.

And indeed, that's the one to get! Not surprisingly, Part 1 of the film seemed rather incomplete, very much like the ABC-TV version of Beatles' Anthology....it was very very good, but of course we only got the "highlight reel" of that wonderful program and all the really best bits were reserved for the VHS/DVD release that followed later. I suspect that's the same situation here....no worries, I'll be first in line to snatch it up as soon as it comes out!

If this turns out to be the case ( added material ) then this will be welcome.
More 'George'....less 'Beatle George'...!

Hopefully it will come out on DVD since I dont get HBO and dont have a Blu-Ray player so I'd have no other way of seeing it

Ditto, LL9. I feel your pain there. Good thing for Amazon and other online shopping venues!

Maybe it's a silly question, but does the deluxe edition include the documentary both on Blu-Ray and DVD? Or isn't the content in the Blu-Ray the same as that in the DVDs?
Amazon.uk lists the contents of the deluxe edition as 4 discs: 2 DVD, 1 Blu-Ray, 1 CD. Aren't these 2 DVDs the same as in the regular DVD edition?
I was thinking of buying the megaultrainordinatelyexpensive deluxe edition, so as to get all the bonus items and the nice package, and using the Blu-Ray as a coaster or whatever. But I'd only do that if all the content of the Blu-Ray were also included in the 2 DVDs. Is it so?

I have it!! I ordered from Amazon UK and received it yesterday..
It is AMAZING! i know lots have been critical of certain things and sure there are omissions but i am speechless by how well it was put together, all the new interviews all the unreleased ATMP EPK outtakes and rare news interviews from George in his last years i hadnt seen before, standing outside Friar Park in 98 etc, not to mention all Georges home movies etc!!
the CD, as short as it is (30 mins) also completly blew me away..let it be me and mama you been on my mind with Jeff Lynne late 80's, very stripped back and just beautiful!! And some ATMP stuff i have never heard before, all in the most amazing quality!!
the special features are also awesome, but again could be longer, or coulda been more i feel
If anything i think the book fails to have much on the 90's/2000's of George and though its nice to have i feel this is my least favourite part of the release..
The DVD's and CD tho blow me away!!
