I know it's fan-girly and I don't care.
Well done, Scruffie

This could be from me... although I have a sight preference for 1965 , but of course, my year of birth is quite gorgeous too

By the way, it's not fan-girly, it's just the truth

It's so true about their love though...well, I believe so.
The reason for this repost is simple: this confession of John and Yoko has more likes/reposts than ANY of the other confessions- from the Beatles in general or the individual members.

And they are all positive! I guess the elite Tumblrs "above" reblogging many of the typical confessions latched on to the extreme maturity of this one. I wish I could sad I made it or that I didn't post a fangirly confession. Oh well. You all still like me anyway!

Very well stated! But everyone always wants to hone in on John's mistakes. The other three are rarely so viscously attacked, and in my opinion none of them were better men than him.

Oh wow. WOW! When John has his eyes opened like this, sorry, I can see that Sean actually does have John's eyes wwwwaaaayyyyy more than he has Yoko (I honestly think they only thing he has of Yoko is maybe the coloring, the fact that he is half-Japanese, and the less long legs). Check out this picture comparison:

^ But speaking of John's eyes, I always thought they were so deep and penetrating. I always got a tad scared of the way he'd look at people- even from the stage. This was before I knew the man could barely see and had to squint half the time, .

Beautiful eyes.

Default The Paul fans trying to belittle John syndrome

I have observed more than many times that this happens a LOT. And of course I can't say John fans haven't swiped at Paul either, but in most cases I see way more Paul fans happy to knock John down as many pegs as they can in order to put Paul up. I was just on a board where 15 people responded to a "John or Paul" question. The result was 7 loving John, 4 loving Paul, and 4 loving BOTH. Well, not one John fan said anything terrible about Paul. They focused on what they loved about John. But of the the four Paul fan responses, 3 were "Paul McCartney hands down- John Lennon was a d*u***," "Paul because John is overrated," and "I have to choose Paul because I hate John Lennon and think he was an ***hole."

I ask you, what is the point of this? I have to say, for the most part, Paul fans on this forum do NOT behave this way. They are very mature and respectful- for the most part and are above such stuff. But I can understand how some people could get offended by this type of stuff. What does it really say when you have to denigrate John to put Paul up when Paul is an established legend?

Anyway, this behavior will not affect how I feel about Paul of course. Just sort of makes me about some of these fans.

I think it says you're either:

a) immature,
b) stupid, or
c) crazy.

Some combination of the above is also likely.

You're right Rell. Thank goodness there are Paul fans like you though. It helps balance the ship quite a bit!

By today's standards, John was- at his heaviest- an average sized male. Even in his time, I would hardly call him "fat." But to John, this was his fat stage. He was a relatively thin guy all his life prior to that period, so he more than likely didn't feel good about himself and his lifestyle was...well... and lot's of carbs in early morning.

Still though, NOT fat by any means except his own.

Default OK, who's is this?

This sounds way more mature than the typical confessions. Let's have it. Who made this one?

And if you want to keep it secret let me just say THANK YOU for such a fantastically accurate confession. Right on!

This is a confession? Come on! I've been making John-only playlists since I was 12. Must be a younger person.

And let me see your flawless credentials Judge Judy. Honestly, the man wasn't a great dad the first time around, ok? And yes his first marriage didn't work out. But what does that have to do with his peace activism or the fact that he wanted to share love and be loved? And Cynthia is spotless and perfect and never made one error in their union of course.

Can people GTFO with this "Cynthia Lennon's book is the source on John's life" crap already. John's activism and efforts towards love and peace and his dedication as a father the second time around were all a result of his own growth as a man and his desire to not repeat the same mistakes and to focus on the positives. Why are people not getting this?

I would LOVE all these teenagers to come back to me once they're 28 and tell me their life was a rose colored garden of perfection. Because right now I'm SO DONE with their idiot 'confessions' which are just tools they're using to dog John out.

Another SFF reference? Ok, someone must have known I was stalking this Tumblr. I can't...this is too amazing. I love SFF and it's wonderful and perfect imagery/music/lyrics and ABOVE ALL vocal performance.

MASTERPIECE...

Of course, Scruffie, you are right

How can you judge a complex personality like John just after having read one book ? That's impossible ! I'd have a false impression of John too, if I've only read Cyn's book, although I enjoyed it. But it's basically the story and view of his first wife and you can have an overview of John's life and achievement just within 10 years. Too bad that some young people don't get that
