Tour Time Again
Got this info from Billboard.com:
Billboard Bits: McCartney
Sources say Sir Paul McCartney will return to North America for another run on his Drivin' USA tour, with 23 more arena dates in late September and October. According to Amusement Business, the initial 27 shows grossed more than $53 million and drew more than 407,000 people. All but four shows were sell-outs.
"We're enjoying it so much that we think it would be a pity to shelve it," McCartney said in late April about the possibility of future shows. "We're starting to think of doing [another tour] toward the end the year, but we don't know where yet."
As previously reported, the tour will be chronicled by a documentary home video. "This tour is going so well, we thought it might be nice to capture it all," McCartney said.

Thanks for the article. It's nice to hear more than just speculation.

Re: Tour Time Again
It's about time Paul did a European tour. It's peeved me a little to think that he'd rather do a tour of America than to come back to Europe, where he was born and grew up in and where many of the original pre-famous Beatles fans are still based.
Hopefully this tour will be THE tour.

It must be Europe this time. That's where his roots are.
I will be there.

I didn't find it offensive. I can see why Harb would be annoyed, actually. I know I would be if I lived outside the U.S. He's doing 2 tours of the U.S. and seems to be ignoring Europe completely. I hope he's planning an international tour after this one!

I sincerely apologise if you found my comment offensive. I was merely wondering why Paul was so adamant of continually touring nowhere else but America when the other half of his fans live over here in the continent where he was born.
I guess I'd just really like to go see him in concert, but on my own home turf.

Completely understandable, Harb, but here's my take on it.....I've read a number of absolutely BLISTERING articles lately written by European journalists saying how Paul is crap, washed up, embarassing, horrible and how nobody in Europe likes him anymore and they wish he'd retire or die or something. But here in the US, he's treated with a lot more respect. Which would you chose if you were Paul? To tour in a country where everyone thinks you're wonderful or where you're going to be endlessly criticized and only moderately well received?
That said, I wish he would tour in Europe anyway so all you guys could see him!

Re: Tour Time Again
What is embarrassing or washed up about Paul? I just don't get that. Paul McCartney is an outstanding musician and he has given back many times over. He has a strong inner core, a strong value system from what he says and how he presents himself and his behavior tends to reflect well on him. He is gracious during interviews and he does crowd pleasing Beatle tunes in his concerts.
How the heck to these journalists make these spurious claims about his "lack" of talent and being a washed out embarrassment?! If anything, Europe would be PROUD to claim Paul as a native son!
BTW, I wish he WOULD come to my city for a concert. I would be DELIGHTED to attend.

Re: Tour Time Again
It's a good sign, but things have been on Ticketmaster before and then been taken off again, so I wouldn't be absolutely sure....
