Aston Martin DB5 Belonging to Beatles Lead Guitarist for Sale
The Aston Martin DB5 is best known for its role in James Bond movies like Goldfinger and Thunderball, which made it the icon it is today. Auction House Coys’ is hosting the London sale ‘True Greats’ this week and one of the cars that is sure to fetch a pretty penny is one rare coupe with a celebrity owner. The car you see here once belonged to George Harrison, a musician who is best known for his role as lead guitarist for The Beatles. It was delivered to him brand new back in 1965 and comes with the 4.0-liter straight-six that’s supposed to offer 282 horsepower and a top speed of 148 miles per hour.
"The car was constructed in 1964 and delivered by Brian Epstein’s venture “Brydor Cars Ltd” to George Harrison Esq. at his Kinfauns estate, Claremount Park, in Surrey on January 1st 1965."
I STILL think a Honda is a better car. I mean, think of a serious Honda Accord EX. I'd choose a Honda CIVIC over the Aston Martin any day!
1964 - I'd pick a seriously coooool Ford Falcon or a 1964 serious Dodge Coronet 500. A Dodge Coronet was a VERY serious car and a high performance Dodge!
I sure love a Thunderbird! A 1964 Thunderbird was a Better Idea! :
