Question on volume 2, the capital years
I just got the first pressing with mistakes (seems Amazon is sending these out as the new ones)...so before I return it I want to get an idea if anyone thinks it may be worth something someday? If this has been covered sorry, but I did not see anything regarding the possible collectibility of this edition.
Thanks
zon

Because they came out in such huge numbers, chances are they will not be all that valuable someday. UNLESS there are wide-spread returns on them for replacement, and Capitol destroys them all, I can't see it.
I have two copies of the mono "errors". One longbox and one brick. I am keeping mine. I might get the corrected version later this year - just for the sake of having it. I checked Costco over the weekend, and they are still selling the errors (no "sk1" on the sticker).

Strange, I just my correct versions from Amazon last week (sk1 was on the sticker).
I'm keeping my mistaken brick too.
I got it at Amazon, because most of the local stores
were stuck. They have to sell the mistakes first. The
distributers aren't taking them back!

Sorry, I've totally missed the train on this. What "mistakes" exactly are there with this box set?
I heard there were problems with it, which is why I'm holding out until it blows over or gets sorted... Argh! But I'm dying of impatience in the meantime!
Is it best to hold out for the "corrected" version, or doesn't it really matter? Won't you please please help me!

Capitol used the wrong mono mixes on "Bealtes VI" and "Rubber Soul", and these mixes got out in massive numbers to the public.
For me, it didn't matter because I listen exclusively to the stereo versions. But, if you are someone who NEEDS to have things historically correct and/or you plan on listenign to the mono tracks, then look for "sk1" on the little sticker stuck to the outsid eof the box. That will tell you that you're getting the correct mono versions.
