Default Miss O\'Dell

This is one of George's popular B-sides. He made quite a few and e.g. if he had not worked on one, we maybe would not have had the Travelling Wilburys perhaps.

Now, for this one, a Trivia question ;

At the actual end George 'sings' a few numbers, part of Hari's humour.

What do the numbers relate to?

------------------
"He left this world as he lived in it, conscious of God,
fearless of death, and at peace, surrounded by family and friends. He often said, 'Everything else can wait but the search for God cannot wait, and love one another.' "

Chip Madinger and Mark Easter's Eight Arms To Hold You, page 442, says that George is "reciting Paul McCartney's old Liverpool phone number, GARston-6922"

I haven't heard this song in a while (I wish it was released on an album!)but I always thought he said "six nine double two."

I'll dial it later today, both of them, and see who picks up

The phone number is 'garston 6922' This was paul Macca's phone number when he lived at 20 Forthlin Road, pre fame and Beatles. you can't ring it as all the phone numbers are longer and have dialing codes instead of the 'garston' area identifaction.

I wonder if this is possibly the only harrisong to give a vague note of nostalgia and a desire to reform the beatles 'why don't you call me...' from George, who otherwise seemed so feverently against regrouping?

Never looked at the lyrics from that angle. Have a look at the Miss O'Dell Storyteller topic at Crackerbox Palace.

And the daylight gets to me, I
I can't take it if I don't see you no more
I can't help it, I need your loving so much more

I can't stop thinking about you
And it's no good living without you
