The Fab Four Tribute Concert
hey...about a week ago i went to a tribute concert for the Beatles, called the Fab Four, and i was very impressed. I can't say they looked alot like them, John and Paul looked pretty good though. But they sounded very much like them and where very talented musicians. if they ever come to your area i really recommend you go.
(((plus if you never got to go to a Beatles concert, it's fun to go.)))

Re: The Fab Four Tribute Concert
If this is the same Fab Four that I always see, how can you say they don't look like the Beatles? I have seen other tribute bands, and these guys are the best.

Re: The Fab Four Tribute Concert
O I didn't say these guys weren't the best, because by far they are...they were absolutely incredible! John and Paul looked similar...but George and Ringo weren't as close. Anyone who hasn't seen them can judge for yourself at: www.TheFabFour.net
There is one pic on there of "John" and "Paul" and it looks almost real.
o, btw... i got to meet them afterwards, and they were REALLY nice, and John was HILARIOUS!

Re: The Fab Four Tribute Concert
I've seen The Fab Four several times and they are awesome! Their sound is not only right on, but in my opinion they look a lot like the real Fabulous Foursome, plus they have all their mannerisms down. They do three different sets, theํr early years, their psychedelic years and their later years which is really cool because you can hear and also see them transition throughout the show. I love it when Micheal (the guy who plays George) does his little George dance during his guitar solos in their first set! Very cute.
In the begining of October I went to a special tribute to A Hard Day's Night concert, and they really did a phenomenal job! They played the entire A Hard Day's Night album and then came back later for a second set! In March I also went to an Abbey Road concert where they played the entire Abbey Road album, including the medlies. I'm telling you I was on a high for days after that concert! I would highly recommend them, they are by far the best tribute band I've ever seen.

Re: The Fab Four Tribute Concert
Yes...I love Micheal's (George's) dance!! Um...about the touring, they are centered in California, and when I talked to them they said that after us (in NY) they where going back home (California). If you go on their site you can see all the places that they are booked for the next few months by clicking on "calendar." If they ever come within 300 miles of you (harhar) I really suggest you go.
Also like PaulsPrincess said, their mannerisms are down pat, and plus the guy who is John (I forget his name) has John's sense of humor , and you just can't learn that!

Re: The Fab Four Tribute Concert
Yay! Another Fab Four fan. Since I was never able to see the real Fab Four in concert - they are an awesome alternative. I just love hearing the greatest music ever performed live (and performed well). I'm so glad you got a chance to hear them play. Like you've discovered already, there are several fans here in Southern California. I went to the same concerts PaulsPrincess is talking about - and they were AWESOME! I know they aren't the Beatles, but like I said - it's great fun to "rock and bop" along with the music.

I went to their concert Oct. 27 when they came to NY (not NY City). I got to meet them after the show... they were signing autographs and though I didn't have anything to get signed (all their Christmas CD's were gone) I got to meet them and talk and stuff...cause I was like the last one there.

Re: The Fab Four Tribute Concert
I've been following the band for about 3 years. I was at the listening party for their 2 christmas cds'. Ron (John) plays a perfect John Lennon. I have met the band many times. They are the nicest guys, and will sit and talk to you.

Re: The Fab Four Tribute Concert
I just saw the Fab Four Thursday night at the Las Vegas Hilton. I'm not sure how they normally do their shows, but it was split into 3 sections. The first section started out just like their first Ed Sullivan show, with a perfect Sullivan dude introducing the band. He's the same guy that was in the movie Pulp Fiction.
Anyway, they come out in matching suits and do several early songs up through about 1966. Then they take a break and come out in the Sgt. Pepper uniforms, and they do several more songs from that era. Then they change again and come out dressed like the cover of Abbey Road.
The entire band is perfect musically, and you can tell they care about getting every note sounding like the original stuff. And for people like us who know the music in and out, that's pretty important. I've heard they do a sweet 2nd side of Abbey Road, and I wouldn't be surprised if that was perfect also. Looks-wise, the John and Paul are very good, with Ringo and George looking ok once they put on their wigs and clothes and whatever.
Their producer (and manager too I think) was very nice, he gave me 2 tickets to see the show. After, he took me backstage and I got to meet the guys while they rubbed off all of their makeup. They all knew about the site and use it all the time, which is always cool to hear. Once they were normal again and in real clothes, the only one that really looks like a Beatle is the Paul guy. You could easily meet the other 3 and never know they were in a Beatles tribute band. I took several pictures of the show, I'll post them once I get the film developed.

Re: The Fab Four Tribute Concert
I saw them last November, it was really fun. But the guys that were supposed to be George and Ringo really didn't look like them. They sounded really great though.

Glad to hear that you liked them, Jerry. As you know there are several fans on this board (myself being one). I was curious as to your opinion on their sound and overall talents.

Re: The Fab Four Tribute Concert
Well I'm off to see the band again tonight, this time about 250 miles closer to home. They're supposed to do a different show, with some B-sides and other rare songs.

Re: The Fab Four Tribute Concert
This show was a lot different. It was about twice as long, and the crowd was definitely more into it. We got there kind of late, and the only seats left were way off to the side. But their manager, who is extremely cool, saw me and moved us right up front in the middle to the best seats in the place. So running BeatleLinks has an advantage once in awhile too.
They played a ton of songs I never thought I'd see, and they played them all exactly right. It kind of made me imagine what a Beatles tour would have been like after the Pepper LP or White Album. Anyway, great show. If you're in the LA area, try to make it to that Liverpool Days convention in a few weeks because I think they're playing both nights.
