LOL.. Same here!

But for me, it would have to be the scene in AHDN, where he an the little fashion designer
(or what have you) were going over shirts an he said they were "Dead Grotty!" hahaha!

In "Help !", in the army barracks, after the cage drops on Paul, John and Ringo...

George: "Well I'm off !" (runs away)

John (or Paul ?): "... typical !"

From Live at the BBC

Whoever was interviewing shall be 'I', and 'G' for George.

I: Is it true that you're a connoisseur of the classics?
G: No. It's just a rumor. A ROO-MA
I: Just a rumor, then?
G: Mm.
I: Do you enjoy singing 'Beethoven'?
G: No. Been singing it for 28 years now, you know?
I: For how long!?
G: 28 years.
I: That's incredible, could you manage one more performance?
G: Uhm... possibly.
I: Oh, go on, say yes.
G: Yes. *clap* Thank you.

I don't know why... that always makes me laugh.

I liked when asked if the Beatles (1964) missed the simpler things in life such as (Paul--"riding on a bus,"); anyway when asked about going to a restaurant George replies, "We just go to the snobby places where people act like they don't know us and leave us alone."

George throwing his glass of water on that reporter the summer of 1964 was funny. His take on it some 30 years later in Anthology (book) was even funnier.

When George introduced Paul and announced the next song, Yesterday:

"...And so, for Paul McCartney of Liverpool, opportunity knocks!" And then the gesture he does with his hand and how he runs away...

That has always cracked me up!

Yeah, me too. George was so adorable in that footage from 8/14/65 on Ed Sullivan, aired 9/12/65.

Another goody is when George was talking about figuring out where the Beatles would stand on stage saying something like (this is a paraphrase) "Paul would stand on the left side, being left-handed and the neck of the guitar would point right. John being right handed stood on the other side for the same reason.

The George said (another paraphrase, I don't have the exact quote) "and since I was right-handed, (pause, raising the eyebrows and grinning)...and still AM right-handed..."

I don't know why... that always makes me laugh.

Gold. Sheer, sheer, gold. That was the first one that popped into my head when I saw this.

"I'm a tidy sort of bloke. I don't like chaos. I kept records in the record rack, tea in the tea caddy, and pot in the pot box."

I always seem to laugh at that one.

Even though it was written in a script, the scene in AHDN when George, John, and Paul see Pattie and her friend on the train is hilarious.

George: "Aye, but don't rush. None of your 5 bar gate jumps and over sort of stuff."
Paul: "What's that supposed to mean?"
George: "I don't know. I thought it just sounded distinguished-like."
John: "George Harrison, scouse of distinction!"

And the facial expression George makes while explaining to Paul just adds onto the humor, I think. Cheeky.

Absolutely love that scene. Don't know if it is obvious.

That's the quote that changed my life. I use '5 bar gate jumps and over sort of stuff' and 'scouse of distinction' in my everyday life. Sure only one friend knows what I mean, but the looks are priceless.

George, Paul & Ringo w/ George Martin.

Paul tells George (about Golden Slumbers) "It doesn't sound like you're on it."

To which George laughingly replies, "It doesn't sound like ANYBODY'S on it."

George's comment in 1995 that Paul would always be a few months older than he [George] was. Kinda reminds you of Norm and Shake and their quarrel about height in A Hard Day's Night, more than 30 years earlier.

George was a PISSER in that movie! He stole the whole show!

When reading the August number of "Uncut", which has an article about George, I read something that looks like a joke from George, but which I cannot understand. I'm telling you because in case you understand it I suppose it will be a funny thing George said (in accordance with the thread title), and you will also be able to explain it to me (please).

Neil Innes says that once he was at Friar Park George came in from the garden very excited asking for a picture of a moray eel. They looked for one in the Internet, printed it and then George wrote underneath "That's a moray" and went out without a word, leaving them "to work out the pun". What pun?
