Paul's in twice isn't he? As a solo artist, which I presume John is too? Not sure about George and Ringo though - not as solo artists, but they've both been successful so....GET EM IN!

Default Beatles Stuff in the RnR Hall of Fame

I've never been to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I'm assuming that the Beatles are well represented there, but can anyone tell me what memoribilia is on display there? Are the Beatles the most represented group there?

Glenn, I assume you mean the RRHOF in Cleveland?? I have been there 3 times. The second time they had a lot of John's stuff there-old report cards, letters, childhood things. His "fuzzy" coat, I think a guitar or 2. They have a few things such as sheet music, ticket stubs, flyers, posters, pictures, etc from the Beatles as a group. Last time I was there (less than a month ago) they were getting a costume display ready to open the NEXT day! but from a distance I could see the Sgt. Peppers costumes. They change things around several times a year get new stuff in and older out all the time.
They have a fair amount of Beatles stuff there as they do any artist but with 40+ years of Rock and Roll it seems like very little.

Glenn, you are very welcome. Do you live in the "tri-state" area that you might make a trip into Cleveland? Worth seeing RRHOF at least once.

no, the roll royce isn't there anymore, that was a while back. belive me, the rock n roll hall is not that great, once in a while they have some neat stuff, they could have ALOT more beatles stuff there.

George Harrison was inducted into the RRHOF. He deserves it.

I can tell you pretty much what's there. The actual items that are on display keep changing but here's basically what they have. On the lower level is the main exhibit area. (they took down the drumstick wall if anyone knows what that is. i was so mad!) There's a big video screen between 2 walls. On one wall it showcases the Doors and the other wall showcases the Beatles. The last time I was there the beatles wall had Paul's Shea jacket, Ringo's Pepper jacket, and George's very first guitar. It also had all kinds of smaller artifacts like merchandise from the beatle years, pairs of john's glasses, copies of john's 2 books, and postcards written by john (to julian i think). There may be other things scattered around but that's where the main concentration is. On other floors and areas they have beatles programs and records (maybe a drumhead) and movie posters. No, the Rolls isnt there anymore, and no, unfortunately I think Hendrix has the biggest exhibit area if i'm not mistaken. The Hall of Fame level of course has them with all the other Hall of famers. Hope that helps!

I'm from Cleveland...

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is nice, but the best exhibit they have ever had there was the John Lennon one. I'm not being biased. It just had such a nostalgic effect on people. I went there to see it a few months after it opened and it was SWARMED with people. They had tons of John stuff there.

If you go now, though, they have the guitar exhibit thingie outside (as well as the Leibowitz "American Music" exhibit inside), which is just these huge guitars that were painted and decorated (some beautifully) by artists, musicians, organizations, etc. Its nice to see, since they have a lot of Beatles-based stuff. I think a guitar Yoko painted was there as well, though it wasn't really that pretty or anything. But still...its nice to see. I haven't been there for awhile but I drive past it everyday on my way to work.

Oh yeah that was DEFINITELY the best one when they had John's personal effects on display (courtesy of Yoko) even-unfortunately the "glasses" he had on when he was killed.
I tell ya, I kept going back to that one and took my sweet time just absorbing and reading EVERYTHING on display. The only thing is they don't allow photography of any kind

That would have really made the trip for me...I will be there in August (since I will attending the "Abbey Road on the River" music festival) so hopefully there will be MORE beatle stuff on display!

I went to the RnRHAF when I was a senior in high school for my Pop Music class. There is a lot of Beatles stuff in there. The top floor is all the written lyrics of John's. I saw his Sgt. Pepper outfit. His white piano is there and the bloody glasses too. I haven't been there for about 2 years but I want to go back. I got a John Lennon poster and magnet when I was there. It's only about 3 hours from me (i'm in northwestern ohio). If you want more info on the exhibits you should check out the website they have for it.

Hey Donna! My boyfriend and I are going to "Abbey Road on the River" in August as well. Last year we went only one day and I saw this lady perform, can't remember her name, but it was all acoustic versions of these breathtaking Beatles songs. She completely stole the show for me. So I hope she'll be there this time.

I agree, I've been to the R&R HOF three times, the John exhibit was by far the best that I have seen there.
The glasses, the bed,the handwritten lyrics, the guitar collection,I could go on and on......
I also am attending AROTR. We will be there all day Friday and Saturday, but we have to leave around 3pm Sunday. All of us BeatleLinkers will have to plan to meet somewhere. They came out wth a tentative schedule of events. The final schedule wil be out a few weeks before it starts.

I'm not sure yet if I will be at AROTR -- I might be, as my friend who edits Daytrippin' Magazine is trying to put together a fan club bus trip from New York City and I will be helping her out if it happens. I won't know for a couple of weeks -- but if I do end up there, I will be sure to let you know and hopefully I'll be able to meet up with my fellow Linkers!

Hunh - I might be there too. The group I play with is playing there, but I can only go if I can get a ride, which I'm currently working on...

I would love to meet you guys. When the time draws near, just PM or make a thread about it so we can know where to meet, or if you'll be there or not. I'm going all three days, hopefully. (I hate to think to think so far in advanced because you never know what can happen...)
