Titles and First Lines
Dunno if this has been raised here before.
A music teacher colleague made the point that many of the Beatles' songs begin with the title (like, "Hey Jude" begins with the words "Hey Jude")
For example:
Any Time at all
Blackbird
Can't Buy Me Love
Eleanor Rigby
Free As a Bird
Help!
Her Majesty
Here There and Everywhere (kind of)
Hey Jude
Hold Me Tight
I call your name
I should have known better
I want you (she's so heavy)
I'm looking through you
I've just seen a face
Lady madonna
Little child
Love me do
Mean Mr Mustard
Michelle
Oh Darling
Penny Lane
She came in through the bathroom window
She loves you
Something
The long and winding road
There's a place
Why don't we do it in the road?
Yesterday
You never give me your money
You're going to lose that girl
Of course, there are many more songs that don't begin with the title.
What, then, is the point of this thread? All I can say is this: having looked it up, I felt obliged to do it. So there.

Ha very interesting observation! Never picked that up myself. Although I felt that a lot of pop songs during that era either had the title in the in the chorus (they still do) or were in the first line of the song.
Examples: Angie: Rolling Stones
Start Me Up: Rolling Stones
Baby Love: Supremes
...These are the first three that come to mind - I'm sure there are plenty more!

Scratch "Here there and everywhere"--it actually starts with that little intro:
"To lead a better life..."

Here's an updated list, based on your replies. It gets more interesting.
BEATLES SONGS IN WHICH THE OPENING LYRICS ARE ALSO THE TITLE.
A Hard Day's Night
Any Time at all
Because
Blackbird
Can't Buy Me Love
Dear Prudence
Free As a Bird
Goodday Sunshine
Help!
Her Majesty
Here Comes The Sun
Hey Jude
Hold Me Tight
I call your name
I don't want to spoil the party
If I fell
I should have known better
It won't be long
I want you (she's so heavy)
I'm a loser
I'm looking through you
I'm so tired
I've got a feeling
I've just seen a face
I want to tell you
Lady madonna
Little child
Love me do
Martha My Dear
Mean Mr Mustard
Michelle
Oh Darling
Penny Lane
She came in through the bathroom window
She loves you
She said, she said
Something
The long and winding road
There's a place
Why don't we do it in the road?
Yesterday
You never give me your money
You're going to lose that girl

Throw in "A Hard Day's Night" (allowing for "It's been..." which hardly matters)

Throw in "Because" (the song starts with a long "Aaahh", which doesn't count, for my purposes)

They don't sing :
I Want You (she's so heavy)
They sing :
I want you. I want you so bad.

And,as has been pointed out, A Hard Day's Night doesn't start directly.
You can't ignore four words, can you? (It has been a...)
Otherwise you'd have to accept For I Have Got Another Girl which isn't the title,is it?

Add Two Of Us.
And if you're including the early songs you'd better start with Hello Little Girl etc. etc.

This actually is a bit of a look into their songwriting process. Do they come up w a title and then build a song around it? Do they compose a verse and simply take the identifiable first riff and title the song?

If a SINGLE word is uttered before the title is uttered.... then the song is not part of this list. Just one opinion though.

Zipp, I include "A Hard Day's Night" and stand by it.
The first words are "It's been", not "It has been".
The first line includes the title of the song: It's been A Hard Day's Night.
Perhaps you're being a bit pedantic.
The charge of pedantry also applies to "Penny Lane".
Regarding "I want you"--there's no denying that the first words sung are, in fact, "I want you".
"She's So Heavy" (always rendered in brackets, like this) is a sub-title, which gets me out of it nicely, thank you.
Editing in: you are right about "Another Girl". It wasn't even on the list.
