A good rockin' number. Ringo was the great at performing this one on tour.

Boys

(Luther Dixon/Wes Farrell)

I been told when a boy kiss a girl,
Take a trip around the world,
Hey, hey, (bop shuop, m'bop bop shuop)
Hey, hey, (bop shuop, m'bop bop shuop)
Hey, hey, (bop shuop)
Yeah, she say ya do. (Bop shuop)

My girl says when I kiss her lips,
Gets a thrill through her fingertips,
Hey, hey, (bop shuop, m'bop bop shuop)
Hey, hey, (bop shuop, m'bop bop shuop)
Hey, hey, (bop shuop)
Yeah, she say ya do. (Bop shuop)

Well, I talk about boys,
Don't ya know I mean boys,
Well, I talk about boys, now,
Aaahhh, boys,
Well, I talk about boys, now,
What a bundle of joy! (Alright, George!)

My girl says when I kiss her lips,
Gets a thrill through her fingertips,
Hey, hey, (bop shuop, m'bop bop shuop)
Hey, hey, (bop shuop, m'bop bop shuop)
Hey, hey, (bop shuop)
Yeah, she say ya do. (Bop shuop)

Well, I talk about boys,
Don't ya know I mean boys,
Well, I talk about boys, now,
Aaahhh, boys,
Well, I talk about boys, now,
What a bundle of joy!

I've never been a fan of this song, but I can say that Ringo's version is much better than the original.

Hey you north easterners! Q104.3 Ken Dashow (NYC NJ and vicinity) will be doing a Ringo song dedication from the Drumheads and Pineapple Pete during his new early 730am-9am Breakfast with Beatles 4/11 show. Tune in!

A nice little number that Paul wrote. Strictly a children's song, he used short words so it could easily be picked up on and sung by children.

Yellow Submarine

In the town where I was born,
Lived a man who sailed to sea,
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines.

So we sailed up to the sun,
Till we found the sea of green,
And we lived beneath the waves
In a yellow submarine.

We all live in a yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine.
We all live in a yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine.

And our friends are all on board,
Many more of them live next door
And the band begins to play.

We all live in a yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine.
We all live in a yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine.

As we live a life of ease
(As we live a life of ease)
Everyone of us has all we need
(Everyone of us has all we need)
Sky of blue and sea of green
(Sky of blue and sea of green)
In our yellow submarine.
(In our yellow submarine. Yee-haa!)

We all live in a yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine.
We all live in a yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine.

We all live in a yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine.
We all live in a yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine.

I LOVE "YELLOW SUBMARINE" AND I'M NOT ASHAMED TO ADMIT IT!!!

Lol, while it's not quite "A Day in the Life," it's really good and I love listening to it!

Excellent choice, Cecilia. An enjoyable mid-tempo ballad with just the right touch of slide guitar added.

King Of Broken Hearts

Starkey,/Hudson/Grakal/Dudas
Startling Music Ltd/MCA Music/Beef Puppet Music/
Irving Music (Birdie of My Life Music)/Do Dis Music

Can you guess what I'm thinking of
Where's someone that I can love?
I just don't know where to start,
I'm the king of broken hearts.

I was waiting for the bells to ring,
My love for her keeps lingering.
Praying that she'd wear my ring,
Waiting for the crowd to sing.

I'm the king of broken hearts,
I've lost before I ever start to love again.
I'm the king of broken hearts,
I'd give it all away to find a friend again, again.

Where's the dream I had before?
She just walked right out the door.
I want her back and nothing more,
Her note fell on the bedroom floor.

I'm the king of broken hearts,
I've lost before I ever start to love again.
I'm the king of broken hearts,
I'd give it all away to find a friend again.

A heart's no good when it's been broken,
Words of love are often spoken,
My tears fall like jewels from a crown.

Look how fast the tide can turn,
Some people live but never learn.
I can make a brand new start
Living in a land of broken hearts. (broken hearts)

Yeah, I'm the king of broken hearts,
I've lost before I ever start to love again.
I'm the king of broken hearts,
I'd give it all away to find a friend again.
I'm the king of broken hearts,
I'd give it all away to find a friend again, again.

I think it's a terrific song. Possibly containing one of George's most gorgeous guitar solos of all time, and Ringo's vocal is very commited, too. Love it.

One of Ringo's early hits as a solo artist. Some say it was a jab at his former bandmate. Boogaloo was one of Paul's nicknames.

Back Off Boogaloo

Richard Starkey

Go!

Back off Boogaloo,
I said, back off Boogaloo,
I said, back off Boogaloo, boo.

Back off Boogaloo,
What d'yer think I'm gonna do?
I got a flash right from the start.

Wake up, meat head,
Don't pretend that you are dead,
Get yourself up off the cart.

Get yourself together now
And give me something tasty.
Ev'rything you try to do,
You know it sure sounds wasted.

Back off Boogaloo,
I said, back off Boogaloo.

You think you're the groove,
Standing there in your wallpaper shoes
And the socks that match your eyes.

Back off Boogaloo,
I said, back off Boogaloo,
Come on, back off Boogaloo, boo.

Get yourself together now
And give me something tasty.
Ev'rything you try to do,
You know it sure sounds wasted.

Back off Boogaloo,
What d'yer think I'm gonna do?
I got a flash right from the start.

Back off Boogaloo,
I said, back off Boogaloo,
Come on, back off Boogaloo, boo.

Back off Boogaloo,
I said, back off Boogaloo,
Come on, back off Boogaloo, boo.

Back, ba-ba-ba-back!

Back off Boogaloo,
I said, back off Boogaloo,
Come on, back off Boogaloo, boo.

Back off Boogaloo,
I said, back off Boogaloo,
Come on, back off Boogaloo, boo.

Back, back, ba-ba-back, come on!

Back off Boogaloo,
I said, back off Boogaloo,
Come on, back off Boogaloo, boo.

Back off Boogaloo,
I said, back off Boogaloo,
Come on, back off Boogaloo, boo.
