You can have the best product in the world and if it is not marketed properly you don't sell it. Ringo was a vital part of the marketing of the Beatles.

Re: This I Cannot Take!!
I guess what made the Beatles the band they were, was the mix of the four caracters, talents and qualities.
Ringo was indeed not the writer/singer, but all three are convinced of his qualities as a drummer who in fact co-wrote or co-produced the songs to what they became by his way of drumming.
How many top-charts artists in the late 1990's and 2000 area write/produce their own material?

After playing slide on 'Love Letters' by Bill Wyman, the next expected guest appearance is on Jim Capaldi's 'Anna Julia' to be released September next.

Re: This I Cannot Take!!
Murray the K was nobody's Beatle. He couldn't even sing in a green Chevrolet and it was an embarrassment and an affront to even jokingly call him the 5th Beatle!

Re: This I Cannot Take!!
Murray the K's self proclamation of being called the 5th Beatle was strictly a goof, and nothing more or less than a publicity stunt and should not be taken seriously by anybody including himself.

Apr 16 1990 - George appears in Jim Capaldi's video for ‘Oh Lord, Why Lord.' George had done backup for the same song on Capaldi's album ‘Some Come Running.' The video was the only promo video shown at the Nelson Mandela concert at Wembley.

Yeah, so do I. I never once thought it was something anybody ever took seriously. I just thought it was a very silly gimmick.

Re: This I Cannot Take!!
John lennon was a genius. i think many people prefer him because they empathize with his upbringing and with his tragic end
but you had to have the cute one, and paul was definitly it, that my wifes words not mine.
to put this theory into modern times look at nirvana. Kids empathized and still do with kurt cobains lyrics, his troubled childhood, and his tragic end. but dave grohl was definitly the cute one(again not my words) yet besides teenage girls no one paid him any mind because he was only the drummer. how would this make u feel?
how dare anyone say that ringo was 'only' the drummer!
kurt cobain preferred john opting to say that paul was too commercial.
his whorry wife courtney liked paul.
now who do you agree with the suicidal drug addict or the new yoko ono? tough question?
ps. in the beatle movie "Backbeat" dave grohl played drums on all the early songs in the movie!
