Default Paul on Fallon Show Thur. Night

Paul is scheduled to appear on the Jimmy Fallon show tonight (thur nite) (NBC). Also scheduled to appear is Robert Plant. Maybe they perform a song together?

Just watched Paul's appearance on Jimmy Fallon. Obviously the anniversary was mentioned and Paul says that it was easier for him to cope with, by the fact that he and John had started to make contact again. They had spoken to each other on the phone and were talking about kids and families and making bread!! I thought that was a lovely moment.

Oh and this little ditty...
"Scrambled eggs,
oh baby how I love your legs,
Not as much as I love scrambled eggs
Oh how I love, scrambled eggs."

Hilarious!! Of course, this song became known as Yesterday.

Jimmy is such a true fan, that is one of the best Paul interviews I've ever seen. Did you catch after Paul sang "Here Today," Jimmy quietly said, "I love you" to him? I got a little misty on that.

Anyone notice Jimmy's band playing the Rutles "Hold My Hand", while Paul came out? I thought that was funny.

Paul and John would just call each other and not talk about music. They would talk about babies, bread, and cats.

Well, they hard a pretty hard time for part of the 70s, what with their mini feud. They wrote a lot of nasty songs back and fourth for a while too. Paul wrote Too Many People and Three Legs ("When I thought, when I thought. When I thought you was my friend") from the album Ram. So John came back with How Do You Sleep? Paul then wrote "Dear Friend" as a olive branch/truce song.

Then when John was split from Yoko in the mid 70s they started hanging out more. They even jammed with Stevie Wonder and some others (go to youtube and search A Toot and A Snore in 74, you can hear the bootleg from the Jam. It's not amazing, but it's nice for the novelty factor).

But supposedly John was planning to write with Paul again before he was killed. Various people have commented over the years that while he was working on Double Fantasy he was talking about The Beatles a lot/thinking about working with them again.

Here Today is my favourite Paul song. It's so raw and plaintive and full of emotion. Paul really did love John, as a friend, as a brother. It's heartbreaking that John was killed right when they were starting to patch things up again. Who knows, maybe there would have been more Lennon/McCartney collaborations if John had lived.

Cool

That is the most open and relaxed that I have seen Paul in ages , what fun to see Scrambled Eggs performed for the first time live for the Beatles/Paul fans, wow what a fan Fallon is, wonder if he got to know Paul after Paul's earlier appearances on SNL, glad that you mentioned the Rutles' song, I knew, I had heard the song before but could not remember where! Paul seemed quite willing to get up and have fun on Fallon's show......

Yes, it was a very misty moment. I can only imagine that feeling and I wouldn't have been able to hold back my "I love yous" either! It was absolutely adorable, even just the enthusiasm he had talking with him about his music, which most interviewers don't usually have :D
