Overplayed maybe, overrated as well. Good one but he's got way much better songs...

It's a great message, though it isn't the best song (it's one of the best, but not THE best for me. Mind Games, for example, is better)

It's a very beautiful song, no doubt, but my problem with it is all the airplay it gets. It overshadows a lot, almost all of John's other work, in which case some of it is much better (The whole John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band album, for example). It's tragic to see a select few John songs get airplay when his post-Beatles career had so much potential and so many good songs

I think it's a beautiful song.

Yes, it is overplayed, but what better song to be overplayed? It's a powerful and enduring message (one that humanity sadly, still doesn't fully grasp). It remains as powerful and relevant as it was the day it came out.
