Pattie Boyd Layla
I don't know if it already exists a topic on her, but I'm quite new here, and I really envy that woman. I've read lots of thing about her in the book,s on the internet, I've even tried to contact her, but to no avail. I think she's been the luckiest girl in pop history ever. She got two of the most important musicians fall in love with her and write lovely love songs for her "Something" and Layla. She was absolutely pretty, the right woman for a Beatle or for a musician. George and Eric Clapton really had good taste.
What do you think

Re: Pattie Boyd Layla
Yes I agree she was a very beautiful woman and I'm sure she still is, don't know much about her whereabouts these days OR what she up to. Did she ever re-marry after she left Eric? Even tho she left George for him and even after she left Eric-George and he remained CLOSE friends til the end.

I think she never remarried. She said she was afraid of doing so again after two failures, and every time she met someone new, it was sort of a challenge. I think she is now dating a London photographer.

Re: Pattie Boyd Layla
After two failed marriages, Patti never remarried. She is now dating Rod Weston who's a real estate developer. She lives in London and is a photographer

Re: Pattie Boyd Layla
Eric Clapton (27 March 1979 - June 1988) (divorced)
George Harrison (21 January 1966 - 1977) (divorced)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dies und das
Eric Clapton's song, "Layla" (by Derek and and the Dominoes), is written about Patti Boyd. George Harrison, who was also once married to Boyd, wrote several songs about her as well ("Something", etc.).
The oldest of six children born to Colin Taylor Lee Boyd and Diana Jones.
Is a photographer. [2001]
Met Eric Clapton at a club in 1965.
Met George Harrison on the set of "A Hard Day's Night". George tried to ask her out, but she refused, she had a boyfriend at the time. But she gave in and they started dating.
Pattie got into modeling after working as a hairstylist. Her client asked her if she was interested in modeling. The client happened to be a modeling agent and her first test shots were taken the very next day.
From 1949 to 1954, the Boyd family moved to Kenya, Africa, because her father was a RAF pilot and was assigned there. In 1954, her parents divorced and her mother took the six children back to England.
At age 3, her younger sister, Helen Mary, was born. Pattie nicknamed her 'Jenny' after one of her dolls. Jenny became a model in her own right, was the inspiration of Donovan's song, "Jennifer Juniper". Jenny accompanied the Beatles and their entourage to India for the meditation. In 1965, she became involved with Mick Fleetwood, who was a fledging drummer for Fleetwood Mac. They would marry in 1970 and had 2 children. They divorced in 1977, but remarried later that same year, but re-divorced in 1978. Since then, she married Ian Wallace and wrote a book, "Musicians In Tune".
Her younger siblings are Colin (b. 1946), Helen (b. 1947), Paula (b. 1949), David (b. 1953), and Robert (b. 1955).

Re: Pattie Boyd Layla
Actually I found this out a few months ago:
Patti, Colin, Jenny, and Paula are from the same parents: Colin and Diane.
However Diane and Colin got divorced and Diane remarried and had two more children, Robert and David.
I got most of the information from one of the Yahoo groups dedicated to Patti.

Re: Pattie Boyd Layla
and here i thought she had been remarried. Thanks for the updates EnchantingLennon!
There was a pic of Patti in People magazine after George passed. She looked terrible but it was because you could tell she had been crying.

I don't know...
Couldn't have been all happiness and luck since all she ended up with was two divorces.
Eric cheated on her, no? I think its safe to say that George probably did too. Needless to say she cheated on George with some guy named Clapton.
also, was she ever able to have any kids? Both George and Eric both were able to have kids with other women after they were married to Patti- but neither had kids with her (please correct me if i'm wrong!).
Not that kids=automatic happiness but it still seems sad that someone who was a beautiful young model was apparently unable to have any kids.
Also, interesting that she and George weren't technically divorced until 1977 as he was already with Olivia by '74. Sounds like it might've been a long, drawn out mess.

Had to know RexFeatures would have something: http://www.rexfeatures.com/cgi-bin/r...=patti+clapton
or change "clapton" to "boyd" or "harrison" or "shaboygan" or "happytrails" or "mcdonalds" etc.

Re: Pattie Boyd Layla
Well, in fact I've read that one of the cause of the divorce of both George and Erc was that seh couldn't have children, and both george and Eric wanted to, so quite unfortunately her marriges ended beacuse of that. She even forgot Eric's infidelity with Lori de Santo with whom he had his son Conor, who died when he accidentally fell from a highriser, beacsue she thought that way Eric would be happy with a child of his own

Re: Pattie Boyd Layla
There was a report of George and Patti having a chat in the lobby of a Ravi concert in recent history (I forget....2000?). They were seen laughing and chatting together and I thought that was really nice.

Re: Pattie Boyd Layla
I recall reading somewhere that Eric and Patti did manage to conceive a child but, sadly, she miscarried and was told that she could never have children. I also read that even when married to George, they tried having a baby and Patti was willing to adopt but George said no, and I think Patti tried to will an adoption with Eric, but he could've said no as well. They must have wanted a child of his and her blood or something, which is really sad because they could've raised a child that needed a home and parents. But I could also understand it too, I guess, to carry on some sort of tradition.
Another possible cause of Patti and George's divorce is that he ignored her while studying the Indian religion and thought that sex was...okay, I don't know anything about Indian religion and what it has to do with sex (I actually think it's stupid, I mean, how could some and any religion has rules against sex? Especially between a married couple?) So anyone who's familiar with the Indian religion, take it away!

Jeannette, which group? And, who did Diane remarry to? I'm never going to get my research done! Never ends.
