I'm just reading the standard version and it's very good so far. I learnt that I have a similar ancestry to George via Ireland and the French Huguenots. In fact all the Beatles had an Irish connection in their ancestry although Ringo's was only slight.

Lewisohn has said that although the book took 10 years to write the next two parts will be quicker so I don't think we'll have to wait till 2020.

Even after all has been said and done, there still remains some confusion over the Volume 1. What distinguishes one Tune In book from the others is that the extended volume has much more comprehensive material on the Beatles' ancestries and their boyhoods in Liverpool. One is the "extended" volume having 960 pages as opposed to a previous edition having 944 pages.
