Default "Yesterday" from 1965 British tour

I recently read that when they played "Yesterday" on the 1965 British tour, Paul was on electric organ, possibly even playing and singing alone. The tour was very short, 9 venues in 10 days, in early December 1965.

Then I started to think, I don't think I've ever seen a picture from that tour, or heard any kind of bootleg from the shows at all. I would have remembered hearing "Yesterday" that way for sure.

Does anybody have anything from the tour? Maybe a picture of Paul at the organ? Or even better, an MP3 of the song?

Let's see if I can get this attachment feature working. If I did, here is a copy of Yesterday performed live August 1, 1965 from some TV show called "Blackpool Night Out" (nice name). I believe that Paul is on guitar.

I saw him on TV in the US on The Ed Sullivan Show solo, no others Beatles in site, performing Yesterday. He was definitely playing guitar that night. However I think this was bit a later than '65.

From what I've read elsewhere he did Yesterday solo on the piano during the December '65 tour but who knows.

Haven't found any bootlegs from that tour yet although I'm no expert so there's no saying. Anyway, here's the dates according to wiki:

03/12/1965: Odeon - Glasgow
04/12/1965: City Hall - Newcastle
05/12/1965: Empire - Liverpool
07/12/1965: Apollo - Manchester
08/12/1965: City Hall - Sheffield
09/12/1965: Odeon - Birmingham
10/12/1965: Hammersmith Odeon - London
11/12/1965: Astoria - Finsbury Park
12/12/1965: Capitol - Cardiff

The Sullivan show was from August 1965, broadcast in September.

I asked the question on BootlegZone, got a few pictures so far...

I just think it's almost unbelievable that no audio has surfaced from that tour. Especially considering how we have tons of pictures and video and audio from everything surrounding it.

The Beatles performed on the Sullivan show 8/14/1965, one day before the famous Shea Stadium concert. It was aired on 9/12/1965. (Who could forget Soupy Sales' stupidly funny, totally campy mouse act? Silly, stupid even, but funny!)

Great info, folks! Thank you!

Yeah Jerry it's a bit of an enigma.

In his bookThe Unreleased Beatles Music, Richie Unterberger says no tapes have emerged of the December 1965 British tour.

I somehow think something will turn up one day.

I have been after a tape of that tour for years, but none exists so far.
The same applies to the late 1964 tour in the UK (unique songs perfomed included I SHould Have Known Better and I'm Happy Just to Dance).
The 1965 one was also the only concerts they performed We Can Work It Out live.

There is a picture of Paul doing yesterday on electric piano at one of these concerts as it was available as a poster about 20 years ago.
Wish I had bought it!

Oh, gosh...I'm always singing and doing "The Mouse" to my mom because she hates it so much, which is exactly why I like to tease her all the time with it.

I saw The Beatles on that December 1965 tour, the one and only time I did (I say SAW cos I didn't really hear that much!) Paul did play organ on yesterday, but the others played too, on guitars and drums. Paul was kind of recreating the strings on the organ. John then played the organ on We Can Work It Out.
There is no audio but there are photos of them in Sheffield on that tour in The Beatles Monthly in Jan or Feb 66 including one of Paul on organ.

Duke, whilst no wishing my life away (I would have been 5 at that time), I am hugely jealous!
I would have loved to have seen one of those concerts, not least cos' I'm interested in knowing whether they played with any enthusiasm.
Listening to the 1966 live recordings you can hear they were going through the motions, so I would love to know whether they put some effort into these concerts.

I was only 9 or 10 myself!
My memory is that they played with great enthusiasm, lots of jumping about and joking, but the sound was just BIG and loud and of course, it was 3,000 seats indoors so the screaming was deafening! However, I can still viualize the curtains opening and THEM being there, in black polo necks and suits and shining guitars, and the NOISE! John wore a hat!
