Default How I Won The War on DVD!!!

John Lennon stars in his first film performance in this hilariously surreal collage of battle footage and one-liners lampooning the absurdity of the war. Michael Crawford also stars. For a limited time, How I Won the War Special Edition comes with a Commemorative Photo Album, which features behind the scenes photos from the film. The feature has been remastered for this DVD release with supervision from Richard Lester (Director), and John Victor-Smith (Editor)

That's cool, cause I've never seen this movie.

That's true Bill. Many people have heard about the film, but never actually seen it.

PS, I like your skip smiley.

I'm buying it. I haven't actually seen it, but...you know it's the movie John made around the time he also wrote the greatest song ever (SFF) so I must have it. That's all I'll say about it.

My advice to those who have never seen the movie before and are planning on purchasing it: Don't get too excited.

I'm a total Lennon nut, and I found the movie pretty much unwatchable... It's probably just a bit better if you're British, but just a little... John is not in it that much (maybe 10 minutes of total screen time), and he's great of course, but he doesn't have all that much to do.

It is certainly a very strange movie, and in some ways it does relate more to the British fan. But, John did write Strawberry Fields Forever while he made the film, and that alone is history. The new DVD has some amazing pictures and articles about John's time in Almeria, Spain.

And don't forget that this is the film that inspired :

I saw a film today, oh boy!
The English army had just won the war.

It's not a great film but certainly interesting enough to merit a viewing.

Yeah, John's certainly the best part of the movie, but I would love to see it on DVD. I'm so excited!
