She\'s old enough to know better
I've just been listening to "Cry Baby Cry" from the White Album and it's a fantastic song. I think it's very underrated, probably because John dismissed it as rubbish. It's an excellent haunting arrangement and the lyric is quite nasty in parts.

It seems like Clark here has great taste in music!

Re: She\'s old enough to know better
I sang "Cry Baby Cry" at Beatlefest this year. It's a lot of fun...the first parts being soft, and then it's loud all of the sudden. Great stuff.

Re: She\'s old enough to know better
It's not one of my favorites, but I do like it and think it's underrated. The one problem I have with it is that it doesn't really make such sense (the chorus, that is).

I, like Nice Mr. Mustard, don't really think that the chorus makes much sense. I like it though, it's a lovely song.

Also I do enjoy the song proceeding Cry Baby Cry. Do you know what it is?

Re: She\'s old enough to know better
It's certainly not the worst song on the WA. I do enjoy John's vocal on it.
------------------
John thoughts on "Yesterday":
"That's Paul's song, Paul's baby. Well Done. Beautiful--and I never wished I'd written it."
1980
Is it any wonder why I love John so much?

Re: She\'s old enough to know better
Now this isn't just because I'm a Maccagirl, Cry Baby is a great song, but I really like the ending from Paul on the song. Another good WA track is Long,Long,Long. I LOVE that song.
------------------
Paul on the Australian tour: Sydney wasn't very good weather, was he? It must have been the mongoose season.
George on Australia: There are reefers all along the west coast, right?

Ahhh Long Long Long, definately one of George's best. The album is great, though I am not keen on Martha My Dear or Honey Pie but the rest is just brill.

Since when have you expected all of John's lyrics to make sense?

There's just something about it...maybe the way it's volume is so much lower than the other songs. It's beautiful.

Sexy Sadie is a work of art. The harmonies, John's vocals, Paul's piano, it's brilliant. The best part of the song is when John sings "she's the latest and the greatest of them all", and then Paul and George repeat the line in falsetto towards the end.

Re: She\'s old enough to know better
This one is great too. TWA isn't full of typical pop songs, but there is something about almost all of them that gets you into them.
