Bruce Springsteen is my mother's all-time favorite musician ever. To her, he's God. And because of her insipid obsession with his music, going to his concerts, watching his live videos, recording every thing that he is on, etc. I have come to know his music fairly well. He's pretty damn fantastic, to me. But I don't share my mother's rabid love. I think he is brilliant, I love his voice, words, music, etc.

My favorite song by him is "Highway Patrolman" and I can't explain why. But I love that whole Nebraska album like mad. It's one of my favorite albums ever, actually. On the list here, though, I opted for "Born to Run" though I love all the others almost as much. There are SO many with Bruce Springsteen! One poll can not cover it. to me, Thunder Rd is one of the great rock tunes.
Totally inspiring, poetic, melodic, dynamic, and romantic in more ways than just boy/girl. Actually, much of Bruce's music can fit that description.
Not to mention the superb instrumental at the end.

oh boy oh boy oh boy. This topic just might get seasidewoman back on. She has just about switched alliances and is a HUGE Bruce fan now. she said to pick Rosalita, but I picked Born To Run. She has some problem getting on this forum but she may try again.

hey Chris she wants me to ask if you know of any other dvd's other than Live In Barcelona he might have.

I went with Born to Run....but my very fave is "I'm On Fire". That is a 'gives goosebumps' kind of song.

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">I hope you don't mind if I answer, Chris. A dvd Bruce Springsteen and the E St Band Live In NYC a few years old has better sound and video quality ( as good as I've seen on a dvd) than the Barcelona one, which is also good. the performance is just as great without the Rising songs.

Jtal I don't think we're gonna get alot of votes around here. I don't think there's too many Bruce fans on here.Which is odd cause on the Bruce forums there seems to be alot of Beatle fans.

I'm not a big Bruce fan and there are only a very few of his songs I like. My favorites are "Born in the U.S.A." and "Rosalita."

I can't stand "Spirit in the Night" and the crazy Janeys drive me up a tree. I also intensely dislike "hungry Heart." I'd rather hear the train whistle.

I used to work with a bad smelling crass yahoo of a woman who had a crush on Bruce and she would burst into song at the drop of a hat; make personal comments to people and hit on every man who walked in through the company doors. She did not help endorse the Bruceter to me.

Hello! I think it is awsome that John liked Hungry Heart a lot, because I value his opinion highly. I really like Hungry Heart although I chose Rosalita as my favorite from that list but I did almost put Spirit In The Night. Tenth Avenue Freeze Out is also one of my favorites, along with Tunnel Of Love and Blinded By The Light. Well, I guessn I just like all of his songs, so my list would stretch forever!

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">I second this! A GREAT song.
I sometimes wonder if my life would've been somewhat changed had I 'found' Bruce in high school rather than in 1981 as a result of JOhn's comments.

we finally got around to watching the two new videos and I have to say.. Damn. I can see why she likes him. I still have a hard time with the voice and I think many of his songs sound the same. However his voice 'fits' so well on some of his stuff and those videos when he was younger, well he is a very sexy man. And he does put on a good show.
