God bless you, too.
Bruce is certainly very successful in Europe, at least since "Born In The USA". The man sold over 80 million albums worldwide!

Does anyone else think the lyrics to 'Reno' are a 'bit much'?

Nah,it's a little weird hearing him talk like that.I've heard worse things come out of other singers mouths.

true...and that I think is where my disappointment lies. I would expect better of Bruce :( I just don't think that explicit lyrics are needed.....and that song alone should have given the album a parental advisory....not just an asterisks....just my opinion...

Thats also something you wouldn't expect him to do.He's not always a saint .Also I don't think anybody under the age of 18 are going out to buy the cd.

Bruce, Little Steven, et al. ROCKED on the 1985 musical meteor, "Sun City!" I LOVE that song!

Lyrics (*)

Sun City, Sun City
South Africa, South Africa
We're rockers and rappers united as one
We're here to talk about South Africa, we don't like what's going on

It's time for some justice, it's time for some truth
We've realized there's only one thing we can do
I ain't gonna play Sun City
I ain't gonna play Sun City

Relocation to phony homelands
Seperation of families, I can't understand
23 million can't vote because they're black
We're stabbing our brothers and sisters in the back
I ain't gonna play Sun City
I ain't gonna play Sun City

Our government tells we're doing all that we can
Constructive Engagement is Ronald Reagan's plan
Meanwhile people are dying and giving up hope
This quiet diplomacy ain't nothing but a joke
I ain't gonna play Sun City
I ain't gonna play Sun ity

It's time to accept our responsibility
Freedom is the privilege, nobody rides for free
Look around the world, baby it can't be denied
Why are we always on the wrong side
I ain't gonna play Sun City
I ain't gonna play Sun City

Bophuthatswana is far away
But we know it's in South Africa no matter what they say
You can't buy me, I don't care what you pay
Don't ask me Sun City because I ain't gonna play
I ain't gonna play Sun City
I ain't gonna play Sun City

Relocation to phony homelands
Seperation of families, I can't understand
23 million can't vote because they're black
We're stabbing our brothers and sisters in the back
I ain't gonna play Sun City
I ain't gonna play Sun City
I ain't gonna play Sun City
I ain't gonna play Sun City

Random faves
Born In the usa, born to run
State Trooper, Rosalita (come out tonight), tenth avenue freeze out, E Street Shuffle, Glorias Eyes, Tom Joad, human touch, tunnel of love.

Just noticed that Marias Bed from D&D uses the same lyric from Further On Up the Road from The Rising. Hmm

BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE!!

Other than the lads from Liverpool, Bruce Springsteen is my all-time favorite artist and performer. I've seen Bruce live about 34 times. Weak numbers by Bruce Tramp standards. As a kid in Jr high & High school in the 70s, other than the Beatles, no one's music moved me more. Like the Beatles, I consider Bruce a part of my life and family.... My favorite track is "Jungleland". The song is so full of intense drama and adventure...Its a ballad, its a rocker, its jazzy, its soulful & poetic. If any of you get the chance, pick up the 30th anniversary "Born to Run" box set. The concert DVD is alone is well worth the price. Without the Beatles, without Bruce, my life would be very sad... ok, you can include the Stones in there as well

Thumbs up

I'm totally in love with Bruce at this point. I got the "Born to Run" box set and the DVD is incredible!!! Awww...I hope he does one for every remaster, lol! My favorite album is a tie between Darkness... and The Rising.

If you could possible make a top twenty fave Bruce songs list, what would the songs be? I've got to go away and think about it

The documentary in the Born To Run box set "the Making of..." is also really good.
Rock history in the making.
