Suggestions?
I am looking for new things to listen - anything goes, really, I just want to be surprised and to be introduced to new songs.
What would you suggest for a Beatles/Who/Simon and Garfunkel fan like me?

Re: Suggestions?
The Beach Boys have issued two-fer cds. that is 2 albums on one cd.
I'd start with Surfer Girl/Shut down vol 2.

Re: Suggestions?
Do you mean new releases or from whenever?
New release i can reccomend is Free The Bees by The Bees,Beatle like harmonies and sounds, Young Americans by David Bowie has a cover of Across The Universe and the song "Fame" that he worte and recorded with John. Or you could just get a Bowie compilation and dig in.
Smile-By Brian Wilson
Blonde on Blonde or Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
The Velvet Underground And NIco-by the Velvet Underground
London Calling by The Clash
Dark SIde of the Moon by Pink floyd
Ok so the last few were pretty obvious but all good choices

Re: Suggestions?
Some newer bands aren't that bad. Especially for a Beatles fan, I enjoy music like The Killers, Jet, The Vines, Franz Ferdinand, and Velvet Revolver. All definately worth checking out.
Pick up "Echoes" by Pink Floyd, it's also a great one with all their hits on it. And some Cream as well.

Re: Suggestions?
It is necessary for me to suggest Jeff Buckley whenever I can. Beautiful music, but an even more beautiful voice.

Stop listening to Simon and Garfunkel for a start...
Seriously, if you like the Beatles and the Who, you'll like the Move so I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them.

Re: Suggestions?
Two words: Elliott Smith. First of all, he's done a ton of Beatles AND S & G covers (that are actually good!) among other artists from that era. Second, his own material is wonderful.
Ben Harper's music is just beyond words. Like The Beatles, he's contstantly taking risks and experimenting. He's definitely someone to listen to! He also does a really great cover of Strawberry Fields
Rufus Wainwright is also pretty good. He's a friend of Sean Lennon; they performed several songs together at the Come Together concert a couple of years back.

Re: Suggestions?
Personally, since you like The Beatles, the good guy/peace persona, you should listen to the Rolling Stones!
I know a compilation is out with a lot of their 60s songs on it. Gimmie Shelter, Sympathy For The Devil, Paint It Black, Lady Jane, and Let It Bleed are five very good examples of the turn in themes (from peaceful to not).
