Default Can you help?

Firstly, hello to everyone at the forum - greetings from Liddypool.

I wondered if anybody here has a copy of the South Bank Show programme 'John Lennon's Jukebox', which was broadcast last year (I think - could have been 2004). If someone could make a copy for me I'd be happy to send something nice in return.

Also, back in the early 90's I bought a video at one of the Beatles' Conventions. It was a cut and paste style compilation of footage from Australia. On one part it played 'Tomorrow Never Knows' while the camera moved wildly around the sleeve of 'Revolver'. Does this ring a bell with anyone? I made the mistake of letting a friend borrow this and someone half-inched it from his house. I'm not sure if this was an actual programme broadcast in Oz or a compilation someone had put together themselves. Whatever, I'd really like to get hold of another copy - can anyone help?

I know what you're talking about regarding the "Tomorrow Never Knows" audio clip that features the camera panning randomly over the Revolver sleeve. It was used in the unofficial yet fantastic Beatle documentry - "The Compleat Beatles". An awesome program and definitely a great buy for the fan.

Hi Harbidge: Any idea where I can track this down? I have an official docu called 'The Complete Beatles' (from around the early 80's), so I'm presuming that this isn't what you mean (it dosn't include the clip I mentioned)?

The video is called 'The Compleat Beatles' (no spelling error on my part) and copies are floating about on the market. Your best bet for an official copy would most likely be eBay (search for "compleat beatles") although copies may be available online, such as YouTube or BT.

Sorry, my mistake re spelling, but, unfortunately this is the video I already have and not the one I'm after.

It was something I bought at the Beatles Convention in Liverpool in the 80's. Definitely Australian and very raw. It included lots of interview footage from their Oz tour. It was totally different to anything else I've seen - as previously stated, it very much had a cut & paste feel (more inspired amateur than polished docu).

Well, you're both right. The Compleat Beatles documentary absolutley has that Revolver clip in it, just fast forward to the section where the album is, and you'll find it.

Just dug out my copy of 'The Compleat Beatles', haven't seen it for many moons and had completely forgotten about the clip of the 'Revolver' sleeve with 'Tomorrow Never Knows'.

This leads me to believe that the Oz video I'm going on about is almost certainly a bootleg put together by a fan as it 'borrows' this footage (and possibly extends it). Either that or I've completely lost the plot! One thing I know for sure is that the Oz vid made a big impression on me and I was absolutely gutted when it was stolen. Now I think about it, there wasn't a narrative as in a normal docu, it was more a compilation of clips cleverly edited together in an almost punk like manner.

Anyhow, thanks Harbidge and Jerry for reminding me where that Revolver sleeve footage originated.

The search goes on :-(
