Songs with Beatles in the title

I never thought the Jan & Dean classic, "Linda" was about Linda McCartney. (see post #1)

Yes, that's true. The song was written by at a request of her father, Mr Eastman, when she was just a little girl (at that time sure nobody could forsee her future liason with Paul :) . Jan And Dean made their version in 63 if I'm not mistaken. And, as we all know, Paul himself sang it at Linda's funeral party.
Though another quite interesting info about this song exists - "This song had been popular in the fifties and contrary to the rumor it was not written about Linda McCartney although there was a connection. The Linda that the song was written about had no interest in posing for a picture to be used for the cover of the sheet music, so a lawyer that was involved with the song suggested that his young daughters name was Linda, Linda Eastman and he thought it would be neat to have her picture on the sheet music, so her photo was featured on the final product. Linda Eastman went on to become Linda McCartney, Paul's wife".
But I personally read the memoirs of the author of the song himself /Jack Lawrence/, where he states that the song was written for little Linda Eastman.
Prior to Jan and Dean the song was covered by Buddy Clark and Perry Como.

That is insterestring, Mon. And you are right - 1963 was the year, the same year the Beatles rocked the world with "She Loves You" and played for the Queen.

I like the "My Boyfriend Got a Beatle Haircut." No doubt whoever he was, he had great hair!

I wish there was (and maybe there is, I don't know) a collection where these songs were all in one place, like a CD collection of "Beatle themed songs."

The song is evidently a parody of the Joe Diffie tune Bigger Than The Beatles.

Color me impressed. You guys certainly know your Beatles-tribute(?) songs. It's kind of amazing, but it also seems that Ringo has more individual songs in his honor than do any of the others.

I'm interested in the Foo Fighters, Oh, George, song. . .anyone know what album that is on and/or how long ago it came out?

And this is another"Beatles Generation---Riccardo Cocciante"

Joe Diffie (sp) did a song entitled "I've Got a Love That's Bigger Than the Beatles" (I think that is correct). I saw the video in or about 1996 and at the end, you see some Beatlesque statues (no close ups of the faces) and you hear a "yeah, yeah, yeah" chorus.

You just can't escape that Beatle influence....

There's a song called Ringo Buys A Rifle by the Dead Milkmen. Its clearly about Ringo. One of the lines is:

People told him what to say
Ordered (???) dream away
Paul was dubbing Ringo's drumming
John was dubbing Ringo's humming
People were starting to talk

And one of the lines also says "hey Paul, you a*@hole, dub this."

Its not very nice.
