So this makes sales per decade*:
32,514,816 (1964-1969)
30,413,129 (1970-1979)
By the way, the Beatles have sold 27,591,000 CDs between January 1, 2000 and May 29, 2009 (data courtesy of SoundScan).
* without A Hard Day's Night, Let It Be, Introducing The Beatles and several other Capitol items for which the full sales are not known by Capitol.

Indeed, cool stuff, always wondered about numbers.
Just a note re: Let It Be being the final contract-fulfilling United Artists album...that's why it has a RED apple, something often overlooked in discussions.
