"Road" is the stand out track for me.
After first listen I can say that I like most of the songs, not that fond on "Appreciate", but while most of the songs are good, "Road" is one of the few that really stands out.
"Early Days" is another favourite, beautiful track that is.
And you really need to get the bonus track version,
"Turned Out" is imo even better then what's already on the album proper.

Does "Road" feature the members of Nirvana or has that rumor turned out to be false?

I know "Cut Me Some Slack" has, but that was for a different project. I don't have the actuall cd yet, just the iTunes version which doesn't feature a pdf file annoyingly.
Once I have I will look and read into it.
More to follow when I have listen to the cd on a stereo set with better sound then the pc speakers. But I am very positive.

I remember there was some report that, along with "Cut Me Some Slack," they had recorded a song called "Down the Road," so I'm hoping "Road" is that song, but my guess is it would be mentioned in the promotional materials if that were the case.
Also, I want the New light-up cube thing.

Sorry to nitpick, 'Scared' is a hidden track on both versions of the album (I have the standard edition that lists it as the 13th track when I put it in my computer)

No Nirvana members. All the songs have Paul, one or more of the producers and his touring band playing. Not to mention some outside musicians playing a violin.

Other than Paul, who else plays on "Scared"
By the way, is "Scared" the first case of Paul and John (or any other two Beatles ?) each writing/recording an ORIGINAL song with the same title ?
There was of course Paul's "She's my baby" ("Wings at the speed of sound") but the second song of that title wasn't a "George" song per say, but rather as a Traveling Wilbury

When I first gave this a spin I didn't think it was anything special. I've listened to it about 10 times now and it's grown on me a lot! I thought New was a brilliant song when I first heard it a month back, never got the dislike for that one. The whole album sounds like Paul just kicking back and having fun, rather than Chaos and Memory which I feel are over-produced. Save Us, Early Days, New, Everybody Out There, I Can Bet and Road are my favourites, and like someone else said Appreciate is probably the only song I don't fully appreciate (though to be serious, it reminds me a lot of Gratitude from MAF, which I think is the weakest on that album too). Overall a pretty good listen, I probably prefer Electric Arguments slightly more though, hopefully it's not another 6 years before another 'proper' Paulie album!

The only one I can think of that comes close is With the Beatles' 'Hold Me Tight' and the song of the same name from 'Red Rose Speedway'.

They both wrote a song titled Woman.
Paul (as Bernard Webb) for Peter and Gordon and we all know John's song of the same title on Double Fantasy.

^Paul didn't record that one though (outside of the demo).
I still wanna listen a few more times before posting my eagerly-awaited review (so please continue holding your breath), but so far I can say pretty surely that this is his best album since Tug of War and probably the most interesting he's done since Ram.

What's the matter with ya?!? I ADORE that song, it is a real stand out. PLUS Paul told me it is the song on the album he is most proud of. So it MUST be good and loved by one and all.
I am really loving the album. I think it is great. Having now heard him perform a few of the songs live last week in London, I think it will tour very nicely.
I loved MAF but NEW is about a gazillion times better. Love it. Best work he's done for years.

I think a lot of the songs on it are quite catchy. I like New and You Can Bet and Queenie Eye a lot. I especially like that the Queenie Eye vid had Chris Pine and all those other celebs

I can't help but think if this was released in a different time it would be scoring several #1 singles. Several strong songs. New(the song) sounds as if it could have been written somewhere during the 'Got To Get You Into My Life-Penny Lane' era. I'm enjoying this very much. Rolling Stone's #4 album of 2013.

The album is doing pretty well in Sweden. It's climbed to #9 on the album sales chart (Sverigetopplistan). Hubby said they played several songs from it on the radio when he drove to/from work.

Last week at Books-A-Million, I found the album on vinyl! You know I had to get it.
