I don't have that many Beatles book, given that I am a newer fan, but Anthology has to be the best book. I also like Beatlesongs which I found to be great and informative, as well as Blackbird Singing, the book of Paul's poetry and lyrics.

I really liked "Shout", & that was also my first Beatle book. I have to admit that "The Love You Make" freaked me out when I read it , I was only 13 & it was too much info!!

Besides Anthology, my faves include the mojo book, Beatles Gear, A hard days write by Steve Turner, one of the first I read, the Bill Harry encyclopedias, The Mark Lewisohn books, the Love you make by Peter Brown (who called to say I could make it ok) The Longest Cocktail Party by Richard Dilello, the Rough Guide to the Beatles, a really informative, pocket sized 400 page book that is really detaild and covers all aspects of the fabs career, Beatles and solo and it's only about ten bucks so if you find it its real nice to have, Oh and for pure fun-Lennon Legend-an illustrated life of John Lennon, really cool book!. Theres tons that i still would like to get and i have about four books that i havent read yet, including "Magic Circles:the Beatles in dream and history" by Devin Mckinney that I just bought. Looks real interesting. Well thats all i can think of...so far

Without question, the greatest book ever written about the Beatles (by a non-Beatle) is "The Beatles Forever" by Nicholas Shaffner, published in 1978. This is no quickie review of their career to make a fast buck. He obviously put a tremendous amount of time and care into it. It is incredibly thorough, complete, and brilliantly written, without getting too bogged down in microscopic details that we don't REALLY need to know. His love of the Fab Four shines through, but his assessments of the group's various career milestones (and occasional goofs) are fair and honest. This book is a MUST for anyone who wants an easy and enjoyable education about the Beatles.
Unfortunately, Shaffner died several years ago while still young, but "The Beatles Forever" is a wonderful work to leave behind for future fans. For anyone who still doesn't own this book, seek it out!

I can't really choose either. Hmm, the first few that spring to mind are With the Beatles by Alistair Taylor (I'm very in to Brian at the mo!) The Longest Cocktail Party, The Beatles by Hunter Davis (because nothing bad had happend yet) and I Me Mine by Georgie.

I have that one too! I simply love it! I also have Pauls artwork book. In fact I have two copies of it since two different people gave it to me by accident! One of the copies is still in it's plastic cover not even opened. I bet that could be worth something someday.

So many books to choose from!!! I have about 50 Beatles books. Including some that are out of print that were bought second hand!!! I do like the Anthology book, but I don't think it's my favourite. I LOVE picture books!!! One of my faves is called Yesterday and it's full of pictures by Robert Whitaker. It's fab!!! Unseen Archives is definitely high on the list!!! Shout! was the first book I ever read about the Beatles. I don't own it though as it was a library book. Longest Cocktail Party is a great read too. Ooh!!! I just can't decide!!! I may be back with a further list!!!!!!!

Ticket to Ride is an excellent book and it offers a fresh set of information from a different perspective. Kane was a reporter who traveled with the Beatles in 1964-65 and he had first hand knowledge of the concerts and got to know the Beatles well.

I love Alan Clayson's Beatles' Box Set and I like his biography of George most of all. I thought his treatment of Paul in Paul's installment was less than stellar. I also intensely love Ray Coleman's biography of John Lennon.

I love Many Years From Now, Beatles' Unseen Archives; Anthology; Beatles' Literary Anthology; Blackbird, Hunter Davies' biography of the Fabs; I Me Mine, Simon Leng's stellar Harrison biography; Before He Was Fab for starters.

I love "The Beatles' Literary Anthology." It is an excellent compilation of some rather comprehensive essays about the Fabs. I highly recommend this one.

Default Fav. Beeble Book

I think my favorite is Lennon Legend: An Illistrated Life of John Lennon. It has all these things and stuff that you can pull out and look at and it's really interesting.
