Default Wonderwall

I saw this movie at the store yesterday. I had it in my hands and ended up putting it back. $25 it was. It looked like an odd 60's film with probably excellent music What can anyone tell me about the actually movie. Should I go back and get it?

Well, I haven't seen it and have only heard that it's weird (I like weird) and not a real crowd pleaser but if I saw it for $25 I'd snap it up . Heck, I'd even pay a bit more. But then, I'm rather curious about the movie.

And if it's the new and improved rerelease that came out a few years ago it should have the song that was omitted from the original version called In The First Place on it, which George recorded with the Remo Four. Very cool little song btw. I think there's also a bit more music that was not on the album too. For me that would all be worth it.

Okay! maybe tomorrow, I hope they still have it. It is kinda funny. I was at the store with it in my hand and didn't find anything else to get. And I talked myself out of it because well, I have 2 kids in college and one in a Catholic high school and my Beatles spending has been absurd the last couple of years

I was very proud of myself for putting it back. My daughter and I then went across the street to their 'sister store' that sells vinyl. Well go check out my MNI for today to see what we got.. I will go back and get the movie because what is $25 after that...geez my hubby is gonna freak

Well the soundtrack is nothing less than impressive. And not just because George wrote and produced it!

I've seen the movie (downloaded out of curiosity). Weird would be one word... You know the song "Wonderwall" by Oasis? If you listen to the words i think the song (not just the title) was also a bit inspired by the movie, IMO.

In short, from what i can remember, this "older" guy (everyone over 30 was "old" in those days right?) lives in an apartment next to a young gal and he obsesses about her. there's a hole in the wall through which he watches her and her friends. He has the weird day-dreams about her where he's fighting off her boyfriend. This guy's day dreams are more like acid trips though.
You'll probably find a full, better description at Amazon.com.
One description i had read described the movie as "ear and eye candy..but not much of a storyline". George's music of course being the ear candy and the psychadelic trip-like scenes providing fun for the eyes. I can't say i disagree with that comment. Its very late 60s/hippy-ish.

was this a VHS or DVD? apparently the DVD version has a "poem" by John Lennon. I don't know the background on that but that's what the Amazon page said.

That's what I read somewhere too. Along with the previously omitted song. In fact, I think I read an interview or something with George a few years back where he was asked about the new DVD and he mentioned it also.

Milk,

yes and no, not really. LOL. It is a weird piece of art. I thought it was a extremely weak story line. I am glad I have it for my collection and the music wasn't at all what I expected. For a 60's movie I even thought it was weak. But an interesting addition I suppose to my collection. Just to think George had something to do with this pornographic piece (60's porn, way different thatn todays) is interesting).

I am glad I got the dvd tho. The extra piece of footage, trailer maybe. Did have some clips of the boys and the 'characters' standing in front of a HELP poster.

So, is that good, bad or otherwise?

I have heard some of the songs on the soundtrack so I think I know what to expect. What I heard I liked a lot.

I hope you are okay now ...

I love this album...things like Red Lady Too are to me one of his most beautiful melodies
