It's tough to decide between Day in the Life and In My Life, but I went with the latter. There's something about the lyrics that make it my all-time favorite song, and it will be forever.

Man, John's masterpiece with the Beatles and no "And your bird can sing", no "I'm so tired", no "She said, she said", no "Happiness is a warm gun", no "Julia", no "A hard day's night", no "No reply", no "I'm a looser", no "Revolution Nr. 9"?

So it must be "Strawberry fields", but there are too many masterpieces...

Honestly I can't decide. I am tempted to say A Day in the Life but I think Paul had too much input for it to be considered a "John" song.

I am tempted to say Sexy Sadie though.

I went with Strawberry Feilds forever though I love quite a number of the songs listed there.

Not to take anything away from all the great songs, it never got better than "I Want To Hold Your Hand"!

It's got to be "Strawberry Fields Forever". That song just encapsualted John's genius and reprised his popular theme of talking about his childhood. I didn't go for "A Day In The Life" because Paul co-wrote it and came up with the song's most famous line ("I'd love to turn you on").

Um... while there's no Julia, there's also:

1) no space to put those in
2) But there is OTHER -_-

Is there a phobia for the choice Other? In both threads people say "Darn since *insert title A here* isn't on there, I'll have to go with *insert title B here* instead*" Just pick other and say something else :)

And yes, there are a lot of great pieces John did... it's SOO hard to pick, so I haven't yet.

This was extremely difficult! I chose "Strawberry Fields Forever" because it is both a personal song of John's, yet universal as well, and it speaks volumes to me--so innovative musically and lyrically. I didn't chose "A Day In The Life" because it's more of a collaborative effort, although I think it is the Beatles' masterpiece. "In My Life" runs a very close second.
