I didn't realize Beatle Meets Destiny was an actual book until I followed your link, BB. I have to agree the Beatle references sound pretty heavy-handed in that book.

One of the reviewers for the book Beatle Meets Destiny was like, "It's not Destiny's fault! Her parents were hippies! It's not John's fault! His parents were fans!" Blecch.

I'm really confused now. So John isn't the real John Lennon?

No. He's just a literary device for a rabid Beatle fan to project her fantasies onto in this execrable story.

Can you imagine if this author had written a George Harrison story? If he was half a set of twins, he probably would have had a sister named Lou. Instead of the Harrison 4, they'd be the Harrison 2.

Now had this author used the other Beatles, we might have had...let's see....

Ringo might have been an older brother as opposed to being half a set of twins and Paul might have had a brother who was a fraternal twin. Scary to think of what could have happened!

If you want to read GOOD novels that feature the Beatles, I recommend Elizabeth Eulenberg's "The Lonely Hearts Club" and another good novel is "Pepperland." "Pepperland" is a high caliber novel that uses John Lennon very effectively as a literary device.

I think to be fair to the writers we should all wait to see what materializes from the book.

Give 'em a break. :)

You are right and that is why I will reserve judgment until I read about the Beatle Girls.

As for "Destiny Meets Beatle," let's just say it was not my cup of tea, sorry. Destiny McCartney! For Pete's Sake! I think this book might not pass the Mary-Sue/Gary-Stu test.

From the sample I read, I think they are supposed to be guys, BB.

I wondered that myself, and also if they were supposed to be lesbians. Now THAT would be an interesting take on the story--but I bet the author wasn't that brave.

Note the girl playing "George" in the George position on "Meet/With the Beatles" has the longest hair, like our own beloved George Harrison!

As much as I love The Revolver cover... the Meet The Beatles cover will always hold the most special place in my heart.

I've always loved that cover, too. George looks so intense, like Louise!

A strong rumor coming out of Hollywood.... Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd will appear in the film. They are REAL good at time travel. Perhaps the story is true?

This story may have a goofy premise, but it does have one thing my stories don't. publication so she's one step ahead of me. (Though I did publish one of my stories twice)
