Default January 2002 Issue of Rooftop Sessions is Up!

Hi Everyone!

Happy New Year! I'm sure we're all glad to see 2001 go, and let's all hope that this year is happier and safer and better for everyone. We have had a lot to deal with in the past year -- not only the terrorist attacks of September 11th, but also the loss of another of our beloved Beatles. George will, of course, remain forever in our hearts -- and the victims and heroes of 9/11 will as well. Here's hoping 2002 will be a far better year in a far better world.

Thank you all for your support of Rooftop Sessions during the past year -- we have had a lot of exposure (panels at Beatlefest in New York and Chicago, a feature article in the latest issue of Beatlefan Magazine, among others) and last month was a record-breaker for us in terms of visits. I hope that you will continue to enjoy more of the "Finest in Beatles-Related Fiction" on Rooftop Sessions in the future!

Before I let you know about the contents of the January issue, I'd like to make a special announcement. ROOFTOP SESSIONS IS HAVING A CONTEST! We are looking for new, unpublished fan fiction in several categories -- winners will be published in future issues, and all winners will receive a certificate of merit. Please see the main Rooftop Sessions page for further information and a link to the special contest rules -- and we hope to see entries from many of you! Please spread the word and tell anyone you know who writes fan fiction to send us their stories for consideration!

And now, for your reading pleasure in the January issue, we proudly present:

"The Competition" by Lisha Goldberg -- Never, EVER get into a bidding war on E-bay!

"A Doll's Tale" by Lisa N. Collins -- A child's beloved plaything owes her second chance to a Beatle haircut.

"Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, 2001" by Cheryl Mortensen -- A visit to the Hall of Fame and a meeting with a kindred spirit...

"Shelly and the Cherub, Part Two" by Mary Spollen -- A maniacal fan, a Christmas wedding and family togetherness at the McCartney homestead on Long Island make for an interesting holiday season.

And in the Write Thinking section:

"It's Alive! It's Alive! Creating a Believable Character" by Cheryl Mortensen -- How to create your own personal Frankenstein!

As usual, our URL is http://www.rooftopsessions.com -- thanks again for your support of Rooftop Sessions -- and may you all have a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!

Hooray! Now I can get to reading. Didn't take you long at all to get the site up.

No, not that long, considering...my computer is still acting funny, and I'm getting a replacement, but I needed to get the site up and running before I had no machine again...I'm just glad it didn't take a whole week!

Anyway, glad you are happy about it -- enjoy!
